I wanted to respond because I had a simular failure with a RCA DVD player, model DRC 220 N.
DRC220 N
I tried to get a replacement PSU bd from RCA, but they couldn't provide a supplier. The PSU board markings are :
DVD 220 PSU Bd Rev 7.01 55-222CO27-10-01 Apr 12,2002. I think these numbers are the Board Part # TC6125B.
Since I couldn't get a board, I troubleshot it to component level and found that one of the SR360 Schottky Diodes failed on this unit. It had a dead short (not opened, but shorted).
Unit is about a year old. Removed diode and am awaiting replacement part. Fuse never blew, board shows no sign of heat damage, and I'll asssume the switching transformer is ok. If it requires more troubleshooting I'll skip it and get a new unit from another manufacturer. -

Hi there, I also had/have an RCA DRC220 which just stopped and when I took it in to be repaired the technician said it would be cheaper to buy another unit (repairs minimum $145) but maybe it was just the same as what you guys are talking about here. Shouldn't he have been able to pick this up? I still have the unit but getting ready to chuck in rubbish bin. Any chance of it being any good?

This power supply is also used by Thomson DTH210E in my case it was shottky diode SR160 1amp gone short circuit this is next to the 3amp diodes in the same row. Same symptoms the fuse did not blow. I might well replace all diodes in the row. -

Had the same problem with my Thomson DTH220E - PSU board failed, fuse good. Used advice previously posted and found R160 Diode failed short circuit. Decided to replace all 5 diodes in that part of board; had trouble sourcing exact replacements but used the following and the player has now come back to life.
R360 replaced with 1N5404
R160 replaced with 1N5819
HER105 replaced with 1N4002S -
