it can only be done using a special remote like the one available to rent from www.dvdchips.co.uk

Although many will tell you that you need to shell out about £25 for the renatl of a special chipped remote, I have made my DVD-S27 multiregion by doing the following and it works fine:

Using the DVD remote, press SETUP, ENTER, ENTER

    Select OTHER from the menu

Change the 4 digit code to the reuired region (eg 0001 for region 1, 0000 for no region/multiregion)

    Press ENTER, RETURN, RETURN

Switch off the DVD Player for at least 5 seconds.

When you switch back on, it is a fully working multiregion player!

You may have seen versions of this method which confusingly require you to hold the SHIFT key, even though there is no such key on a remote for this machine. Don't worry, the key sequence works fine without SHIFT!

Quote: There is no spoon, or a SHIFT Key

Unfortunately Pressing Setup then Enter enter leads me to the Disc Audio Setting. Sure, It will allow you to change the Audio Setting to region free, but it still doesn't make it region free.
I have the S27 and these hacks do not work.

the Panasonic ( if you still have the manual ) will play regions that say: 1,2,3,4,5 or "Any that say "all" " . but it won't play 6,7,8 or 9 ...
