Hi,
I've a Bosch fridge/freezer "No frost" - can't find any reference on it apart from that. Fridge top, feezer below.
About 9 years old. Started giving error E4 on the fridge display, and built up ice at the very bottom. Now it gives an error E2, and the fridge is warming up.
Thinking it was a dodgey thermistor, I prized the cage covers off the fridge and freezer ones, and took them out. I compared the outputs - which were almost identical at 1.46K ohm in a cool room.
I then thought of a dodgey connection at the socket, so dug it out of the back to find it was fine - or at least looked dry as it ws a formed rubber plug.
Next I went for the control board at the top, and spotted the main diodes had been hot and browned the board, and there was also a brown spot on the opposite side of a surface mount transistor.
Swapping thermistors (sensors) didn't make any difference, so I presume it's a fault on the board.
Are there any schematics for these - or is there an obvious fault other than replacing hot components -or the entire board? -

Problem solved.
I didn't realise there were more thermistors on this !
Bosch no- frost error E2
Solved by cutting panel out of insulation at the back, and removing sensor which was very wet. Everything dried with kitchen paper, then replaced with the sensor from inside the fridge.
A good sensor reads around 1.46 K ohm in a cool room. The wet one read 118 ohm.
I used a little vaseline on the connectors, and the hole at the base of the sensor, and along the wire. Clipping it into the clear holder and applying foil tape to cover, Bosch use a black sealant which is oil based to seal the cable entry. The vaseline just makes this easier and softens it a bit.
To replace this sensor - mark 2 horizontal lines at 180mm and 270mm from the top of the unit, then two vertical lines 70mm and 200mm from the RIGHT.
There is actually an embossed arrow - but it's not clear.
Cut through the foil/card with a sharp knife, and remove the section of card only.
I found a standard knife and fork was ideal to remove the insulation in a set of 6 cubes. -
Cut directly in around the edge, and in sections to make 6 cubes.
Use the fork to remove one cube by breaking it off as deep as possible. Then this allows you access to the base of another and so on. The sensor is encased in hard plastic, but be aware of cable which is loose somewhere in the foam.
With the large pieces out, remove enough to be able to slide the cover sideways.
Dry and replace the sensor, then you can use foam and a foil covered board, or as I did, a layer of film, and replaced the foam insulation, finishing off with aluminium tape to seal the area.
The bad sensor can be reused if you saw the white case off, pare away at the epoxy to reveal the sensor at the far end, then measure it's resistance again. If it returns to 1.24 K ohm, it can be pushed into a pen-top with a little plasticine or putty, and re-used inside the fridge. -

Did you measure from the very top? - I did. Possibly difference between models?
Thanks for the sensor purchase info.
The arrow is VERY feint - and is quite large, and only embossed on the inside of the paper - so is not clear at all.
Ideally it would be inside a little access hatch - but they don't want you to repair it easily do they?
Now getting an error of E2 on the freezer very occasionally - maybe only during defrost cycle when it's getting heated. Now I understand what it's up to - i'll wait untill it fails.
Thermistors are actually very cheap, so is possible to cut the end off a duff sensor - and solder a new one on, and cover in white plasticine before pushing into a suitable container. Just have to get one reading in the same range. -

Hi Jan
I Have a Bosch KGV2620GB/02 fridge freezer which recently when it get to the correct cold temperature is fine. When the temperature rises it doesn't come back on so I have to physically turn off the fridge leave it for a while turn it back on (in the meantime the freezer has defrosted) When I turn it back on it will get to temperature again. Any idea what it could be? The fridge is about 10 years old but as it does get to the correct temperature this makes me think it's a fixable fault.
I see that with other answers about joining the wires from the motherboard but this model has 4 wires not 3. 2 brown & 2 blue
Thanks for your help in advance Regards Darryl -

I have a four month old Matsui under counter freezer which I bought from Currys. Yesterday, I left the door slightly open by mistake and by the time I discovered this, the sides of the freezer were very hot to touch. I switched it off at the mains and eventually the sides cooled to normal so I switched it back on again. Within minutes, the sides were extremely hot again. As it looks like a fire hazard, I have switched it off again and left it overnight.
I am two hours drive from Currys so it's a big deal to take it back, plus I am still looking for the receipt. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be and whether it is repairable? -

My Bosch KGN34X60GB frost free fridge freezer is playing up.It has started making a continuous loud whirring noise from the open grill inside the top of the freezer, but not sure if that is an echo coming from the back of the freezer. I have tried defrosting it for an hour or two and giving it a clean as there was a slight build up of ice inside the top of the freezer. The fridge isn't cooling now either but the freezer seems to be working. HELP

I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A HOTPOINT FRIDGE FREEZER FF7190EX, THE FREEZER WORKS BUT AFTER A FEW DAYS THE FRIDGE WARMS UP AND WON'T COOL DOWN. PLUS THE FREEZER ICES UP . I HAVE TO KEEP DISCONNECTING. DEFROSTING AND RESTARTING THE FRIDGE AGAIN IT WILL WORK FINE FOR A WEEK THEN THE SAME PROBLEM STARTS AGAIN. DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER MODULE? OR THE THERMOSTAT? -

Hi there
Just checking if you have had experience of fires/faults on Beko fridge freezers.
Thanks

Hi.
My Hoover HCF5176W stopped working today.
The warranty run out 2 weeks ago and Comet are not interested in me now.
Seems the freezer completed defrosted...lost everything inside.
The light was still on in the fridge section though.
But no motor/compressor could be heard running.
So i switched the machine off to clean up the mess.
15 mins later i switched it on and now its running fine ???
What fault do i have ?
Will it happen again ?
Any ideas welcomed.
Regards
Jeff
