I have an AEG Lavatherm 5500 condenser tumble dryer. Problem, I can put in washing (not overloaded) and everything works except the HEAT - but, only sometimes, one day it will heat up and another day it won't!! Any suggestions? Seems ridiculous I know, but really annoying all the same. I have been through the 'troubleshooting guide', and done all recommendations to no avail. -

Just had a siemens WT46E386GB delivered and after a few minutes it makes the most awful noise i have from an appliance. It seems to come from the back of the drum -behind the metal back plate. Its not the usual tumble dryer noise -we have not be able to run it yet -any ideas?
How they work, or perhaps problems you might encounter, please let me know and I'll be pleased to help. Particularly the Siemens, Bosch, Neff and Constructa brands.
Just post your questions at this forum, or contact me via e-mail.

Hi Jan,
We have a Bosch Classixx condensing dryer (model WTL6106GB). It was just outside the 2 year manufacturers warranty when it started to give problems. After a few minutes of use, regardless of which proramme it is on, the dryer stops and the indicator light next to "cupboard dry" starts to flash on and off. By pressing the "start" button twice, the dryer restarts for perhaps a couple of minutes and then stops once again. Also it doesn't appear to be getting very warm, even when it is on one of the hotter programmes. The Bosch UK customer helpline was not very helpful, other than to suggest sending out one of their engineers at a fairly expensive fee. Any help or advice you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I have the same issue with my dryer too (Bosch) , dryer spins etc, but does not heat up (not at home at the moment, so don't know the model number). Any ideas why? -

Hi Mohsen,
We were eventually told that the main printed circuit board was most likely at fault and that the repair would cost about £230. We decided to buy a new vented (not condensing) dryer for £170. It definitely wasn't a bosch. Sorry I can't give you any positive advice.
Regards,

Mine was actually quite easy to fix. I pressed the red cutoff button on the back of the dryer. The one at the centre of the drum. -

Can you tell me why my candy condenser electronic tumble dryer has become so noisy especially when it turns one way? It is not very old and I am reluctant to replace it because it was quite expensive and we are pensioners so money is tight. Just wondered if you could help. Does it sound like an expensive fault to you? yours sincerely barken at barmat@ntlworld.com -

Hi there!
I have been using an Ariston Tumble Dryer (vented) whilst working in Saudi Arabia. It really gets hot and dries the clothes in next to no time at all.
I seem to have to buy a tumble dryer every year as it is used very frequently and needs replacing. The last 2 dryers I had were a Creda, and now a Hotpoint. The Hotpoint is not up to it and has had its thermostat changes once already. I just need a reliable vented tumble dryer that dries the clothes really quickly.
I Googled for a suitable Ariston replacement in the UK for home use but it appears that Ariston do not stock/supply these (now by Merloni?) but also Merloni is now owned by Hotpoint
!!
Things seem to have gone full circle!!
Can you advise on the situation and ideally a recommendation. If it does the job then I do not really have a budget in mind so am flexible.
Thank you in advance
Jan
