My favorite is daisy 622x. Semi auto and affordible. Shoots well single action too.

They make a 617x in .177 cal. Probably what I would get now since the 622x is discontinued. I have not seen another 622x for sale anywhere since I bought mine in December.

I love the 622 also, I wish someone else would make a .22 repeater.

as for single shot the Benjamin sheridan 22EB packs a good punch in a .22 in the US if not I would convert a crosman 2250 to a pistol.

At the ranges I shoot I think .,22 is the best cal. Knock down is great for hunting and plinking. Only if I were to compete in target shooting would I consider .177.

I Have a .22 daisy 22SG and .177 crosman 2100b multipump air rifles. I can get 2mm c-t-c with daisy and 3mm c-t-c crosman. the .22 daisy is more accurate, but both the same for making FT shots through a hole as the .22 is 1mm bigger making both their holes the same size. one mm doesn't do much for me plinking and hunting so I go with the one that still easy on the pocket book for ammo and knock the heck out of stuff....the .22 cal.

The Crosman 2240 is one of my favorite over all pistils. It's a single shot but hits hard and is very accurate. it's a lot like a convereted 2250. The action etc. is all basicly the same, it's actually the same gun with a shorter barrel.

Paladin, Do you still shoot your daisy 22sg?

I've been getting the best groupings with the 22sg and crosman 2100b.

The daisy is easy to pump and knocks the tar out of stuff.

Oh well, good luck with the pistols and hopefully you can do some reviews.

Ya and I like it. Unfortunatly the last time I took it out was to try out some new "sabot" rounds. They wouldn't group "fer spit" as they say. Knowing the rifle I know it had to be the pellets. But back to the subject, yes it's a nice rifle. The only drawback (see my review Wink ) is the plastic bolt which constantly feels wek, but just keeps on truckin'. The plastic has held up well, but I wish they'd replace it with metal.

The 22sg seems to have more of a rubbery feel and the cycle is not as smooth as the crosman 2100. It is easy to pump, shoots accurately and still available in .22 caliber. Already being more expensive, I suppose anymore refinements to the 22sg may bring the rifle up on price where people wouldn't buy it. Then again, benjis been around a while and they cost more.

Like I said, I just wish they'd use a steel bolt. The plastic one works alright, and it's still in good shape, it just feels like it's going to break every time i load it.

I just tried my new Gamo R77 (the 357 revolver). fun gun, but it was 40 degrees (f) (4.4 c) with a stiff wind so my co2 wasn't near what it should be. I'll report later when it hits closer to 70(f) (21c).
