Some of us are gifted (excuse the pun) when it comes to gift buying. We make lists; ask friends what they'd like; do some research and then choose a gift that's not only unique but also special and makes the recipient genuinely pleased (have you ever had to practise your fake happy face in the mirror? "Gee thanks, that's...really...different...").
Unfortunately most of us hate buying our loved ones presents, we worry about how much to spend; if they'll really like it or actually need it but most of all we leave it to the last minute and panic buy. So we've put together a list of what you can buy with one day left before Christmas so sit down, breathe deeply and relax, Review Centre is here to help.
Forget the petrol station, we've all been there. The mad dash to get some half dead flowers left at the bottom of the bucket or that can of de-icer. Stop that habit now. There are plenty of options for buying your Christmas gifts the day before the big day.
Get online and visit your loved one's favourite store. Search for vouchers and you may find an option of an e-voucher. It's the perfect last minute gift that sends the gift recipient an email with the voucher attached. Try Amazon, Play, Buyagift, Firebox, or I Want One of Those.
If you want to treat your loved one to an Experience Day like a spa break or a day driving a tank then you can buy them as late as Christmas Day itself. Try Last Minute , or Red Letter Days, buy your gift and print out the confirmation.
Send a bouquet of flowers, a Christmas wreath or potted plant via a florist. Try Interflora, some florists take orders on Christmas Eve!
Choose a Restaurant with good reviews and then simply find out how much a meal for two is and make your own print out to give them on Christmas day. Let them know you'll book it for whenever they like. Ring the restaurant to see if they will accept a card payment over the phone.
Instead of spending money on a gift that may be unwanted why not spread the love and buy a charity gift instead. Donate a goat through Oxfam, use Present Aid, get down to your local Charity Shop or adopt an elephant with the WWF.
Make your own Christmas gift. Try creating a keepsake photo album by printing out glossy photos at home or go to Boots, Jessop's or Snappy Snaps. Or make gift jars of pickled foods or fruits, if you've good at cooking, whip up some homemade sweets like fudge or truffles. You can easily create your own personalized hamper by choosing some nice nibbles and presenting in shredded paper.
Just remember to enjoy yourself and spend some quality time with those you love. And if you hate Christmas that much get outta here! Get yourself some Winter Sun :)
