    Los Angeles is the home to Hollywood and Disney Land and is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in America. It has more than 80 theatres and 300 museums, more than any other US city, as well as some of the most exclusive hotels.

    LA is also famous for its all year sunshine and unique and vibrant lifestyle. Known as the entertainment capital of the world, LA is the home of major television and film production as well as significant music and arts industries.

    This vast city, the City of Angels, includes many memorable sights and experiences.

    The LA greater metropolitan area is the second largest in the America; and its diverse communities downtown contrast sharply with the Hollywood superstar experience you will see in places like Beverley Hills and Bel Air.

    The Los Angeles area is sub-tropical and is normally warm and dry all year around. Breezes from the Pacific Ocean keep the beaches cooler. The surrounding areas consist of dunes, wetlands, hills, mountains and rivers. And despite the tropical desert, snow-covered mountains are less than 70 miles away.

    Disneyland

    Mickey Mouse and Friends await at the world famous resort which can be found in Anaheim, Orange County, part of the greater Los Angeles area. The words across the entrance tunnel read: Here you leave today and enter world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.

    Hollywood Boulevard

    Movie star district between Vine Street and Fairfax Avenue. Attractions include the Walk of Fame, footprints at Manns Theatre and the Hollywood at Highland complex.

    Sunset Boulevard

    A route between Hollywood movie studios and residential neighbourhoods like Beverley Hills and Bel Air. It crosses downtown to the ocean passing Sunset Strip.

    Venice Beach

    Over the top Venice Beach is the home to artists, palm readers, roller skaters, muscle men and a host of other bizarre characters.

    Universal Studios

    Originally a studio tour now also a major theme park offering shows and rides with movie themes.

    Rodeo Drive

    From Sunset to Wilshire this is the prime site for movie star watching as well as shopping. Armani, Gucci, Cartier and Tiffany are some of the high class brands.

    Santa Monica Beach and Pier

    Classic LA beach scene and seaside amusement park, complete with antique carousel. The Santa Monica pier was built in 1916.

    Los Angeles Airports: Los Angeles International, John Wayne/Orange County, Long Beach, Burbank, Ontario, San Diego. Buses and Metro in LA connect to most tourist attractions.

    The peak season in LA is June/July/August, when it is sunny and hot but you might also catch some smog as well as sun. March to May and September to November are less busy. Expect occasional rain in winter.
