About 30 airlines now fly regularly from the UK to Australia and there are many flight bargains on offer. The best time to grab cheap flights to Australia is early in the year so it is a good idea to plan ahead but you will be surprised by how low prices have become all year round. Flying options are also varied. You can fly direct or stop over in Asian destinations like Japan, Thailand and Singapore.
Johannesburg and LA are other popular stop over spots while Sydney and Melbourne are the more popular airport destinations for your arrival. Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns and Hobart also have international terminals.

Queensland
Australias second biggest state is four times the size of Japan and is known as the Sunshine State. The capital Brisbane offers metropolitan lifestyles while other highlights include Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world, the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns; and the rainforests and islands of Tropical North Queensland.
New South Wales
The oldest and biggest state in Australia includes capital Sydney, with its fantastic harbour, Opera House and cosmopolitan city life. New South Wales also includes beautiful beaches, national parks and rich red outback.
Tasmania
Tasmania is an enormous island of beautiful mountain landscapes. More than 40 percent of the island is a World Heritage Area with national parks and marine reserves. It is separated from mainland Australia by the Bass Strait.
Victoria
Famed for its vineyards, coastal villages and charming towns Victoria is a beautiful state to explore. Includes Melbourne with its elegant buildings and vibrant night life.
Highlights include the scenic drive along the Great Ocean Road.
Northern Territory
About triple the size of France the Northern Territory includes a variety of breathtaking landscapes and wonders including the beautiful National Parks such as Uluru-Kata Tjuta - the famous Ayers Rock.
South Australia
Famed for its laid back atmosphere, wine regions and beautiful coastline. Adelaide is South Australias smart and stylish capital with a stunning harbour.
Western Australia
Everything from coral reefs, aboriginal culture and deep red gorges. Includes some of Australias and the worlds more remote and awe-inspiring landscapes. Western Australia also includes Perth, its charming seaside capital.
