Bad Points: Rear visibility is poor. DSG gearbox can be initially slow to react when pulling away. Not sure about headroom for the taller driver - I'm 5'9" so don't have an issue.
General comments: Love it. Comfortable interior (leather/alcantra in mine), plenty of driver's position adjustments. Engine pulls all the way through the range.
Good fuel economy, and the DSG is great for both London commuting and when you want to feel a little more involved with the paddles.

However I also owned a Golf GT TDI which cost less to buy, was equally well built and although it didn't have such an up market interior it was still a premium car. I also think it handled better and had a better ride set up than the A3 which fidgets too much, I have come to the conclusion the extra £4k I paid for the A3 was mainly for the badge. Worse still is ...

Great car all round - if only it would work.
Lots of fun to drive, yet economical / practical.
Sexy looking.
But it's been back to the dealership 9 times in 11 months for engine management system faults. Some are blamed on Audi-wide problems (total engine overhaul at 20,000 miles) some are blamed on this car specifically.
Overall dealership a joke (Swindon Audi) and wholly unable to resolve issues.
I'd never buy a car from there again.
But I'd consider this model again from s ...

Changed cars from a Subaru Impreza turbo to the Audi A3 2.0 TDI with the DSG gearbox option. To be honest this could be viewed as a step down by some, however I'm using the car for 25000 business miles per year and about 3000 private miles. Although the scooby was fun, it was a bit expensive to run as a business car. I once got it down to 8 mpg on the way back from meeting a client in the lake district!!! Hence the reason for the Audi with the DSG gearbox, If I was going to have a diesel I was g ...
