Good Points: Plenty of power to go around. 115w 7.1 and 122w in stereo mode. Awesome bass management!!!

Bad Points: Very heavy at 53lbs. Remote is very difficult to use. Could use 1-2 more optical inputs.

General comments: Paid 720.00 about 4 years ago from Harman Direct on ebay. Full warranty, etc. It's a 2000.00 amp at that time new, and it would have been worth every dime!!

This is an awesome receiver. I purchased it for my media room three years ago and have not been disappoint even one time. I have several components attached: Pioneer DVD, Sony VCR, DirecTV HiDef DVR and XBOX 360 all output to a Sanyo PLV-Z5 projector. Speakers attached are 7.1 Klipsch towers in front, built-ins on side and rear and two 250w subs (run in series). The 7200 has been very reliable, handling everything I have trown at it. If you don't need HDMI switching and can get your hands ...

I am very disspointed that this high end unit I paid big bucks for wont power up after 13 months of little use.
Off to the repair depot and you can be sure I will never buy another Harmon Kardon again.

Bought this Harman Kardon AVR 7200 Audio Amplifier from Fry's for $799. Were quite happy but after a week I started to notice the buzz and hiss from the speakers when the audio source is turned off and the AVR volume is set as low as -30db. Bought a $500 monster HTS-3600 to condition power but made no difference. It's too bad but I decided to return this unit.

The harman/kardon avr 7200 is a great home theatre receiver for someone who wants to enjoy a moderately high end system. It has sufficient power to drive most speakers as well as the ones with the tricky impedence that tends to be all over the place. Plenty of high current power as well as a true wattage output rating measured as continuous average power with both channels driven (Not just one like a lot of other manufacturers do.
