Good Points: erm....hang on .......there must be........ok....the wife won't complain about the size of the Jewel Cubes....
Bad Points: However, she will moan about the big clumsy plastic Acoustimass box stuffed in the corner! Poor build, shocking quality, over priced, limited performance.
General comments: Bose Lifestyle 12 Review - Bose blow! I have heard many acoustimass speakers and LifeStyle systems, had the demos and unfortunately in a previous job installed numerous Bose home cinema systems, even after advising customers against them! Some people will never learn!
Never had an installation without some sort of faulty kit, awkward to set the truly limited multi room side up. Plastic, gimmicky, over priced, over marketed junk! Shocking build quality and the DVD quality beggers belief!
Sound is terrible, boomy, false bass through the Acoustimass unit and overly bright treble from the plastic Jewel Cubes, and a big hole where the mid range should be.
It says it all when they market a really low dynamic range as a plus feature! That ' s the difference in volume in a movie between the quietest sound (wind in the background or talking) and the loudest sound (a big explosion). In real cinema and proper Dolby Digital the dynamic range is set to maximum to achieve a lifelike cinematic experience. How many times have you heard a building explode at the same volume that you talk??!! With the Bose you have no choice!
You can achieve much superior results with proper hi-fi at a fraction of the price! I ' m sorry but if you love Bose you are deaf, know no better or just plain dead inside!
Phew! I feel better now!

Difficult to assess. It was struck by lightning and failed after 1 week of ownership. Not Bose's fault. 13 weeks later they failed to pick it up from my local dealer so that explains my zero review. I have had zero satisfaction. JUST GOT IT BACK BUT IT DOES NOT WORK. I would love to say nice things about Bose, being a bit of an afficianado and a strong evangelist of the brand. I have owned many speaker systems from Bose, and bought the basic radio, alarm, CD player, and the next £800 DVD s ...

For the hype that follows the Bose Lifestyle 12 home theater system I expected a lot more for the money. The sound is very mediocre and hardly worth the price at all. Sure the speakers are small but for a little bit bigger in size I could have gotten sound that just blows these speakers away. DO NOT BUY THIS.

I found an awesome bargin on eBay. I have just recently puchased this unit and it only cost me £705. Really look around as I was going to pay full wack last year from bose and I'm so glad I didn't. It's great to have as it fits into any room perfectly and the sub although big, hides away very easily. I think bose have thought very hard about this to, as they have made specific wall brackets, that from bose cost a bomb. I got some off eBay as low as £2 and they are just great.

The Bose Lifestyle 12 is a fantastic all purpose sound system. The 1st time I set this up and listened to a CD, it sent a shiver up my spine. If you position yourself correctly within the soundscape it feels as if you are in a true 3d environment which uses sound instead of visual images. Unbelievable. Close your eyes and you can "see" sounds coming in from the front, rear, sides and even above your head. The quietest track on the lowest volume setting is heard with absolute clarity. Movies are ...

This Bose Lifestyle 12 home theater system is awesome. Actually, I have the lifestyle 25 system which only adds the feature where I can hook up a second set of speakers at the same time and listen to two different sounds from the same system at the same time!! When I went shopping for a new system, I knew I did not want one that had a lot of components for big speakers. You can still crank up the volume and enjoy club sound without all of space taken in your house or many components to hook u ...

The sound of the Bose Lifestyle 12 Home Theater turns your home into your own personal movie theater. Bose also makes hook up a breeze. Thier direction poster is fabulous. The money I save on not going to the theater for premium sound will make up for the cost. Shop around, you can find really good deals on this system. aka club stores which buy them in bulk and save you hundreds. Just a hint, shop the stores. I have found the best deals in the club stores where I live.
