Good Points: The food is just fantastic, and at a very reasonable price. Maybe the best restaurant in Kilmarnock and the surrounding area.
Bad Points: The car park is wee bit tight.
General comments: After a recommendation we visited the restaurant today and managed to feed the whole family for less than £30! The staff were friendly and welcoming, but they are a bit slow, however this will change with a wee bit more experience. The food is OUTSTANDING so its well worth a visit.

Our latest visit to McChristies Well is Ayrshire was very good, apart from it being very warm and uncomfortable. I would suggest that they get some form of air conditioning installed soon.
Our meal was very good and well presented. We never had long to wait for our meals. The service was excellent. Much improved from the last time we visited.

I went to McChristies Well in Ayrshire the same week, and they had advertised chocolate pudding with coconut ice, but unfortunately they had forgotten the ice cream - whoops.

At McChristies Well, the food is wonderful and you get excellent service. Fantastic home made sweets ~ sticky toffee pudding was fantastic, even after the other splendid first two courses. When word spreads it will be difficult to book!

The new chef at McChristies Well restaurant has made a great difference. We think the food is much better now. They have real chips now, and I can recommend the steak pie, it is delicious.
It is still rather expensive, compared to other places in the area, and there is still not enough choice on the menu, but we now like the place and the food, so we will be dining there more often in the future. More people seem to eat there now, so that must mean something, but it is still not very busy tho ...

The surroundings looked lovely, but it was very warm and uncomfortable, especially as we were seated next to a radiator. The food was not too bad but the chips were not to my liking. £2.25p for eight chunky undercooked chips that I didn't even order. The new chef hopefully will change the menu. When it first opened the menu was good with lots to choose from, but a lot of things were taken off since our first visit. No specials were on the board as stated on the menu.

Eating in McChristies Well, for the first time, with some apprehension as the restaurant appeared to be almost empty - also make a rule never to eat in a place thats empty as the fact it's empty should be a clue to its food. But this was not the case here, a fantastic meal was delivered, healthy portions that filled me up and all for a reasonable price. the only reason I can think that this restaurant was empty was due to its location, hidden round the back of a pub (dont let that put you off pub ...

McChristies Well is a new restaurant opened in the village of Crosshouse, nr Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland, and is one of the best we have ever encountered. We spent Valentines night there, and if this is the standard to be expected we will be delighted (it is very near to us). The menu was imaginative and creative, and the service excellent. Neil and Fiona have managed to capture a wonderful ambience with music, lighting and seating. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the ...
