Good Points: Everything! Great tone and sound, bright and warm, even from top to bottom, a true professional-quality saxophone.
Bad Points: Not many weaknesses - some people may prefer the slightly rounder sound of a Selmer, but since I play a wide variety of pieces, this was the better choice. It can be mellow and round, but that's not the default, in my opinion.
General comments: The last model to be hand-made before Yanagisawa went to a mass production assembly line , it's a noticeable attribute. This is an amazing horn - versatile, perfect action, beautiful construction, and outstanding quality - If you find a used one that's been taken care of, go for it, you won't be disappointed. I love this horn.

This earlier model Yani is hard to find but well worth the money if you can locate them. I play on a 1996 model and it's leaps and bounds nicer than the mass-produced A991's they sell today.
