Good Points: A very interesting, well-written and amusing history. We like it!
General comments: Susan Vandiver, Nicassio Imperial City is a book about life, everyday life, in Rome during the time of the French Revolution. There are Jacobins, there are Reactionaries and there are ordinary people. We meet some from these categories but, mostly, we hear about all of Rome's citizens lived. What they wore, what they ate, where they amused themselves, how they amused themselves. It is a great street-level history of a very turbulent, chaotic society.
