Good Points: Inspirational and full of humour and compassion
Bad Points: Too Short wanted more
General comments: Inspired by a series of dreams commanding her to write her story, Stella Stickland's emotive and inspirational new book takes a long hard look both at her own life and those of others around her. More than an autobiography, interwoven as it is with her analysis of contemporary social issues and the disintegration of our society, she attempts to guide others to a better life while telling the story of her own in a fascinating way.
Having lived since an early age with a foot equally placed in both the spiritual and the earthly worlds, meanwhile coping with agoraphobia, Stella was soon to find herself a divorced single mother, with two young sons, struggling to make ends meet, little knowing that she was to go on to have a successful building and property development company and make her fortune as her business grew. We see how through a bizarre and fantastic set of circumstances she was soon to find that all she had fought so hard to win was to be taken from her, with nothing but the long road to recovery stretching out before her, with the inspirational strength to rise again once more.
This is a book written by someone who cares, who has lived the highs and lows of life and has found a way of giving something back.
