What a shambles, legend communications don't send invoices, they send the dept management company 1st Credit.
Just try to sort out an invoice with the almost incompetent staff and find out how hard it is to get at least some satisfaction and you will see that this is a company to stay clear of.
Cancel your domain and still get a bill? oh yes they do that as well.
They also demand a cancellation signature from a dead man believe it or not this happened to me when a clients husband died, I had the ...- Read bazza1609's review (187 words)

I too, as a former DSVR customer, have been threatended by 1stCredit (representing Legend Communications). It seems that a lot of former DSVR customers have received such threats.
I have rated all above at one star, since there seems no way of awarding a zero.

Legend Communications web sites are down and have been since Sunday 21st June 2009. The help desk when you can get through are no help. They have information about the problem or any time scales and dond have any backup plan to get services back up and running. They will not point domains the the Demon web platform that is working so the site can be reloaded.
It is worth letting the PLC head office know how bad the Legend service is.
Do not use Legend/Demon/Thus they are incompetent. ...- Read glisten's review (90 words)

Dreadful. The review won't let me post zero for the rating.
One of my customers' sites disappeared completely. "Unpaid bill" was the answer. "Dated when?" he asked. "Today"......!!
Then it transpires it was not even a genuine bill as he had paid his annual hosting a month earlier.
Today Legend Communications ftp does not exist......

I've been trying to move my domains out of Legend Domain's grasp for 4 years and have ended up cancelling most of them. They've billed me for domains that have been transferred out to other ISP's, they've made major mistakes migrating account information during company takeovers (passwords becoming account names, and account names becoming passwords). I'm STILL being harassed by 1st Credit (their debt collectors) for money that I DON'T owe them. Don't underestimate how negligent this company ...- Read Guest's review (88 words)

A forum of like minded people! I too have received threatening letters about an M-Dial account that I cancelled last October. Despite writing to head office with my complaints I am forced to pay for another years subscription for a service I no longer receive. Is there any way that we can publicise the appalling service and their pompous attitude?
I had this Legend M-Dial account for 8 years, which was on the whole satisfactory. However it all went downhill when Thus bought them out and transfe ...- Read oldprodrocker's review (298 words)

I'd like to add to those who say they have not renewed their domain name subscription and are now getting letters. I had a renewal with DomainNamesGB, NOT Legend, and there is NOTHING in my renewal that says I have to keep renewing or cancel... it only says they will contact me in 2 years and if I don't renew, I will lose my Domain. Now Legend are trying to get me to pay for a service they do not even provide in my opinion - my email account stopped working about 18 months ago in spite of repeat ...- Read tusa's review (104 words and 1 comment)

Yet again my company's remaining Legend hosted websites are down - this time for the best part of a working week (so far) !
Calls and e-mails to the "technical support" and "customer support" departments generate the usual platitudes and apologies, but nobody seems able to actually DO anything, or even be able to tell me the cause of the problem and how long it will take to get fixed.
Unfortunately for historical reasons the websites concerned are hosted on Legend owned domains and (having ...- Read eipl's review (167 words)

After several years having a rather rubbish website as a student originally using domainnames - I decided not to renew my subscription like Druid1980 but have been getting threatening letters from a credit company. I've been forced to pay for another 2 years even though I've told them I didn't want to use the service as they threatened me with court action over £30! I can't get anything out of Legend-emails bounce back and letters where I've specifically requested a response have also bee ...- Read jplumb's review (125 words and 1 comment)

The service I received is poor, it's hard to get a response to queries. Response to emails is hard, I had no response for weeks, only then when I suggested that I was going to complain to OFCOM even then it didn't provide any answers, I found it was very impersonal. I have now tried to close down my domain but this is proving to be very difficult, any e mails sent to my closed domain are just ending up in cyberspace rather than informing sender that the address no longer exists.- Read cpckall's review (99 words)

We have had endless problems and nobody seems to care. I have written letters to the highest levels and received no response.
I do not recommend using Legend Communications / Demon Internet / Thus PLC for your ISP, for broadband, for email, for hosting, or for anything else if you want to stay in business.- Read Guest's review (217 words)

We have 7 co-located servers at the Salford Quays data centre. I sent a service request to 3rd line requesting a day when we can do a hardware swap out. Didn't get a response for 2 weeks, and then only after threatening to cancel our contract. We spend on average about 5K per year for our co-lo services. All I want to do is upgrade our servers! So far no good, still waiting for an answer.- Read par911's review (108 words)

When they were DomainnamesGB, they were good. Since the change to Legend it has been disasterous, and if possible, has now got even worse since becomming Demon/Thus. I've now had enough. Time to move and do not recommend legend.co.uk- Read nicnoc's review (49 words)

I pay a lot of money every year to legend to host my site and it seems to be down every week for a few days so how can these people be hosting my site? I want a rebate for loss of trade during downtime! Not a chance so I will not be renewing next year!- Read Guest's review (98 words)

I am rapidly losing the will to live!
I can only echo the sentiments listed here already....when they were Business Serve there were very few problems, support wasn't a problem and everything ticked over nicely.
They then became Legend, things started going downhill, then Thus took over......even worse.....now I am trying to find out why, yet again, I can't access my company emails or control panel and keep getting directed to a page headed by Demon????
Their help desk are worse than useless, ...- Read Stateside's review (127 words)

This company hosted my website and were supposed to forward emails. When they insisted I "migrated" to Demon, things got even worse for me - I was not happy with their web mail - help line did not help I felt and email support have not yet replied it seems. This ISP is incompetent beyond my personal belief. The sad fact is that the original Legend Internet was once a very good small local (Bradford based) ISP offering good services and helpful technical support. After several takeovers and reorganisations the company now seems to be worse for me, staff appear to be unable to answer even the most basic of inquiries relating to frequent technical problems, billing information etc.- Read eipl's review (88 words)

I have not been able to access my email or control panel for months as far as I am concerned despite many emails, phone calls and letters.
One day my website went offline came back with no pictures and my control panel password has been changed. My email no longer works. So when I do forget password guess what they emailed me, a new password which I cannot access!
After hours of struggling to get any response from them I get a user name and password that does not work as far as I am concerned. ...- Read Guest's review (115 words)

Absolutely do not recommend Legend Communications due to the experience I had with their customer services and web hosting service. It is the most unhelpful service provider I have so far used. I do not recommend this internet provider.- Read coolk's review (113 words)
