Good Points: Lots of information and content. Very nice map. Very easy to use.
Bad Points: No Scotland or Northern Ireland data.
General comments: UK Local Area gives you a whole host of information about any area in England and Wales. Most of it is information you can get elsewhere, but this website puts it altogether very nicely.
The website is very easy to use for a start and just by typing in a postcode or area name, you are presented with a wealth of information about that area, broken down into a nice tabbed format. The map is very clear and also interactive. From here you have the options to also view school results (you can also view results by the nearest school), nearest public transport and businesses, and also property prices. I also like the fact that you can add a comment about the area.
One thing is that you may need to read the information about how the areas are separated as it's divided into census areas and not postal areas, but you can still locate your area using town names or just the first part of the postcode.
Overall, I was very impressed with this website and would recommend it to anyone who's planning to move or buy a house, or just to get to know your area better.
