Good Points: Power & Refinement, Excellent receiver for Music as well as Movies.
Dolby Pro-logic 2, DTS as well as 6.1 capability (extra rear centre speaker), 7 channel input for future upgrades. The remote although filled with small buttons looks and feels a lot better than others.

Bad Points: Bi-wiring is fiddily as there is only one set of speaker terminals per channel. There are however a full set of pre-outs for connection to a power amp or for a multiroom set-up. Also getting this thing home, it weighs 13Kg!!! difficult to carry with a pair of speakers as well.

    General comments: Marantz SR 5200 - £399 GB. .
Big brother to the highly recommended SR 4200. This receiver gives a clear, open sound for movies and music alike with its greater power and more features than its smaller sibling making it worth the extra £100 investment. Various surround modes, including 'Dolby Pro-Logic 2' which gives new life to VHS or ANY sterio input (Music included, Classical or Dance) This has enough power to drive almost all speakers (90Wpc RMS) whilst keeping firmly in controll. Paired up to B&W 602's, CC6 centre and LM1's for rears (No Sub) there is plenty of Bass which can be felt as well as heard. An RDS tuner with loads of presets make up the rest of what is a solidly built, well designed receiver.
