Good Points: A sequel to the ace game, Rainbow Six 3 Lockdown

    Bad Points: Disappointing

General comments: Rainbow games are known to provide the best anti-terrorist gamses around, allowing detailed planning to be enacted on the field. Hostage, bomb and terrorist situations to face and the adrenaline rush of one shot kills both you and the enemy. Rainbow Six 3: Lockdown provided this and more.
Upon playing Rainbow Six 4: Lockdown I found I was disappointed from the start. The years of the reality of war made the creators at Red Storm change their focus. The story sounded engaging and masterfully crafted, and I couldn't wait to start. Firstly, in training, my gameplay was extremely slow even though I was using the highest grade graphic 3D accelerators. To combat this, I had to turn off some of the amazing lighting features and character detail that made it so realistic. A kick in the teeth I'd say. I had spent money on a product that isn't supported on a state of the art PC. Now come on!!
Next I tried the first mission, encountering that now there is no planning and only one team. The tough hero 'Ding Chavez' leads the team (a particular favourite from previous Rainbow games). HANG ON. Isn't this an anti-terrorist operational squad. Why is it iv'e been inserted into an area that I know nothing about, don't know what my objective is and suddenly have become a front line soldier with a really snazy army outfit? To be honest, Medal Of Honor games provided this without overdoing the graphics.
Unless you don't care what type of shoot em up you want, this game provides multiple weaponry, kit, uniforms and graphically enhanced viewing (if compatable). But otherwise, Rainbow has been let down. What happened to the old objectives in which Rainbow had been created so masterfully for. Plan, Pick, Pulverise. Overall, I want Rainbow to be as before, not a new frontline fighter.
