Good Points: Cleanliness of rooms & pool, in fact, the whole hotel

    Bad Points: None

General comments: In July my family and I return to Montebello Hotel, Olu Deniz, for our 7th visit since 2001. Over those years we have seen Olu Deniz grow smarter and cleaner, and every year it looks more affluent and modern. We always stay at the Montebello and have been well looked after every year. The rooms are basic but clean, the pool is very clean and there's never a problem getting a sun lounger, and the bar (and bar staff) are great if a little on the expensive side. But like the resort itself, every time we return we find the hotel is that little bit smarter, the facilities a little bit better, and you can see that over the winter the owners spend some of their money on improvements.

Our kids love it- The hotel is great for kids of all ages, and even the heat is not too much of a problem as there is plenty of shade, a separate kids pool and you can always resort to a long frosty glass of Efes (adults, not the kids of course!).

Foodwise- a typical Olu menu with the usual Turkish fare, plus a few English meals for those that can't live without egg & chips. The Turkish night is fun, and although the grub is served quite late, the quality is usually great especially the huge range of mezes (Turkish salads). And the belly dancers are a sight to behold, and be prepared to join in!

Speak to hotel staff before booking any excursions- they can often put you in touch with local comapies who are cheaper than via your holiday reps (and sometimes the trips are run by the same people!!). I especially recommend the jeep safaris with Explora, and if you've got the bottle, try a tandem paraglide with Sky Sports. If you need a taxi, ask reception to call Adam- a really nice bloke with good English, who won't rip you off.

Finally- I always book direct with the hotel, and this year, am savings over £1000 on the cost of the equivalent holiday purchased as a package from Thomas Cook et al.

My recommendations are based on 7 visits over 9 years, and I'm going back again this year. Need I say more?

We have visited the Olu Deniz Montebello 4 times now and have just booked to go back in September this year. Beautiful views of the mountains from the pool, rooms keep nice and clean, maids make towels on bed into swans etc with flowers.
very friendly staff, the Turkish night is a good night.

We have always enjoyed our stays and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

If you go make sure you say hello to Dino the dog!!!!
