Good Points: Gorgeous accomodation, splendid ocean view, excellent service.

Bad Points: Very far from the popular resorts. (2 hours by car from the airport)

General comments: I stayed at Amankila just for 2 nights in July 2000. Amankila is one of the Aman resorts, and it's famous for the beautiful rice terrace- designed swimming pool and their excellent service. There are 35 villas, out of which 7 have their private pools. And they have about 6 hotel staffs serving for 1 villa. There wasn't TV in the villa, but you don't need it anyway. They have some comfortable gazebos by the swimming pool, and you can have lunch there if you like. It was so comfortable that I was relaxing at the gazebo almost all day long. The last day I took the Amankila cruising, which was very nice, and the entire hotel I saw from the ocean was very beautifu.
Personally I love their soap, which I think is one of the best soap I've ever used. You can buy this soap at the hotel shop, but only at Amankila. So I once asked Amex Centurion Service Center to buy 3 boxes of their soap (4 in one box) and had them sent to my place in Tokyo.
