Good Points: Easy to use, clear instructions small enough to carry around.
    Speed camera locations.

Bad Points: Need to look at direction on map to make sure that where you are going is correct and not rely on voice commands only.
Garmin charger lead for car did not last long,so I had to rely on battery power only. Which meant I was unable to use it when discharged. Would prefer replaceable batteries.

General comments: I think I would prefer the Garmin nuvi 300 unit to say street names raher than just turn in so many yards/feet etc.
Not a fan of window sucker for unit would prefer to set up on dashboard but do realise some cars cannot get them in that position.
I have mine on the dash using the garmin "beanbag" unit.

Cost of map updates for Garmin nuvi 300 are very high - makes it a poor long term prospect if roads in your area change regularly.

The Garmin Nuvi 300 is neat, tidy and simple to use. It'll generally get you there just as long as you use a little bit of common sense.I would recommend turning the back light timing down to minimum (15secs) if using without the in car power supply as the battery doesn't last that long. The back light still comes on automatically at junctions etc. Even on minimum.I would have given it an 8, possibly 9, if it weren't for the extortionate cost of the map updates.

Excellent value for money (paid less than GBP100). Amazing how prices have dropped.

Had very easy to use navigation and search options. Also good re-evaluating time. I would recommend this to most people that want to buy 1 for first time.

The Garmin Nuvi 300 is portable enough to use as a pedestrian as well as in your car. It's a great all rounder and in my opinion is better than my previous sat nav - the Tom Tom One.

The Garmin seems good for the money considering what I paid for the Navman 2 years ago.
