Good Points: Easy to use once you get used to some of its quirks - turn right may mean turn right in 0.2 miles - not immediately.
Bad Points: The cost of map updates - £70 plus - I am thinking of buying a new satnav with cheaper updates for longer term savings.
General comments: Cost of map updates for Garmin nuvi 300 are very high - makes it a poor long term prospect if roads in your area change regularly.

The Garmin Nuvi 300 is neat, tidy and simple to use. It'll generally get you there just as long as you use a little bit of common sense.I would recommend turning the back light timing down to minimum (15secs) if using without the in car power supply as the battery doesn't last that long. The back light still comes on automatically at junctions etc. Even on minimum.I would have given it an 8, possibly 9, if it weren't for the extortionate cost of the map updates.

Had very easy to use navigation and search options. Also good re-evaluating time. I would recommend this to most people that want to buy 1 for first time.

The Garmin Nuvi 300 is portable enough to use as a pedestrian as well as in your car. It's a great all rounder and in my opinion is better than my previous sat nav - the Tom Tom One.
