“Total rip off's!”

I recently decided to sell my Samsung Galaxy S3. It was in really good condition, worked absolutely perfectly, I just decided with my skinny hands I preferred a smaller phone so got myself an S4 mini which then left me with selling the phone. I did try and shift it on buy sell groups on facebook but people just wanted it for nothing so I gave up on that and thought I'd give Envirofone a go after seeing an advert about how they pay good money for broken OR fixed phones. “Slow slow payment”

“Payment Time is Ridiculus - This is 2014 ”

The process of getting the phone to Envirofone was fast - no problems there. The process of actually getting paid for it is rediculus - 11 days for a payment into my bank account?! I have used Mazuma before and the payment was recieved in a few days - I will use them in the future. Not quite the heart warming picture that Envirofone plaster all over their website. “Terrible returns service”

I sent in 2 items, an iPad and an iPhone. Everything was OK with the iPad but the service on the iPhone was awful. Firstly they labelled it with a software fault - it didn't when returned. We do state on our website that we cannot return any mobile phone accessories that are sent in to us. If you call customer services we should be able to return a charger and box to you but they are unlikely to be the original ones that you sent in.

We scan the imei number of every phone that we receive and the imei number identifies the make and model of the phone. This is what we use to identify the phone but we would always re-test the phone if a customer disagrees with us.

“My experience”

I sold my s3 to Envirofone a week ago, originally quoted around £130, end up getting £58 because there was a TINY crack on the back of the phonein transit...The back cover cost £3 to £5 on eBay. I wrote to their customer service and they told me they don't repair phone that's why they deduct the amount whenever these things happen. I can either wait 14 days to have my phone back, or take the £58. I took the £58 because I don't want any hassle and risk to lose/damage my phone in transit… Read Full Review

The price on our website is for a fully working phone. We assess each phone that we receive and if we find any faults with it we will make an offer based on the faults we find. If a customer is not happy with the amount that we offer, we'll return the phone free of charge.

Without knowing your account details I cant look into exactly what was wrong with your phone. I do know though that we wouldn't have reduced the value by 300%! I was told I would recieve £178 for my iphone, however I got £150. No reason was given. I sent my phone off straight away but it seemed a slow process for enviro phone to inspect my phone then make the payment which was less than I was promised. We allow 14 days for a phone to get in to us and if it arrives after that time the price is automatically changed to the current website price. You should however, have received an email asking you if you wished to extend your sale as we can sometimes extend the trade by an extra 7 days. If you call customer services we will honour the original price and pay you the difference.

On average we offer 25 % more for faulty phones than our competitors do, however if a phone is badly damaged or has multiple faults the amount may be slightly less than that.

“Disappointing ”

When I first entered my quote into enviro phone we were offered over £20 for three phone which we was really happy as compared to other websites it was a lot more. However, enviro phone didn't say that they were going to drop the price to just over £5 after testing the phones. I found this irritating and felt let down as on the other websites they told you what price they would give you for your phones if they didn't work... Where as enviro phone did nothing of the sort. We state on our website that if a phone is faulty/damaged we will assess it and then offer you a reduced price for it. Other recycling companies automatically take off 55% of the value, no mater what is wrong with the phone. We offer anything up to 85% of the original price, depending on what kind of faults we find.
We always give customer the chance to have their phones returned free of charge if they are not happy with our offer, where as other companies will charge anything up to £10 to return your phone.

Our bank transfers take 3 working days to clear into your account from when we action them, as we use standard Bacs payments. The only reason that we wouldn't have paid the full value, is if your phone arrived outside of the 14 days or if your phone was faulty. We would have emailed you regarding both of these matters so please check your emails. If you would like more information as to why your payment was reduced, please call customer services and they can explain to you further.

“Told phone wasn't working- yet it is!”

I was told my Blackberry was not working, as in wouldn't turn on. I was offered £ 4.10 for it. I refused and asked for it to be sent back as the day before sending it in, it worked fine. I sent 2 phones to them, both of which they changed the original price on one saying the screen was cracked so greatly reduced the price and the other apparently didn't get there in time although both re sent with days to spare. The one with the apparent cracked screen was sent back to me and doesn't have a cracked screen and has been sent to a competition who has paid the full amount which is considerably more than enviro done were offering in the first place. Without knowing your account details I cannot look into his to find out where exactly we said the crack was, although I’m assuming that it was a hairline fracture which might have been missed by a company who don’t test phones as thoroughly as we do. We will always have a phone re-tested by a testing supervisor if a customer is not happy with our initial testing verdict and we always return phones free of charge. Many other companies will charge anything up to £10 to return a phone.

Without being able to look at your account I'm not sure why you only received one envelope from us, however you can always log into your online account and order extra envelopes from there.

We send reminder emails automatically to anyone who's phones we haven't received after 7 days. This is because the price is only held for 14 days so we send out a 'gentle reminder' email to make sure that the phones get to us in time.
Because I cant see your account I'm not sure of the exact reason that the price was reduced but it would either be because the phones were faulty or because they arrived after the 14 day deadline. If you have any queries regarding your payment, please contact customer services on 01625 667840.
