It looked to me like the Riviera Hotel in Pula hasn't had a shred of work done to it since the 1940s and maybe earlier, I think the newest thing in the rooms must be the TVs which are circa late '80s. The beds collapsed when we were exhausted enough to lie on them, to me the bathrooms are no less than horrific and indescribable. At breakfast they had dirty plates so went elsewhere but other people described the coffee as a run off of the previous days washing up.
