I couldn't believe how much this place has changed, its now a horrible place, food was very poor quality, took an hour to be served by staff who don't know how to smile, I'll never go there again- Read Guest's review (38 words)

I'm remember being a kid and going on walks up though edgeworth, we use to always make the effort to go to the Strawberry Duck, such was its reputation and rightly so.
However the last 3 or 4 times I have been has completely shattered any memories I had of this place. I totally agree with the other reviews that the place has gone downhill, even the building is looking shoddy. Food was a poor and waiting times a joke.
Either way I wouldn't bother try the Black Bull or one of the other pubs nea ...- Read Guest's review (122 words)

We went to the strawbury duck in Dec 2008, horrible experience!! We were told by some of the locals that this pub used to be terrific, instead it is being run by a lady who yells at the customers, never has enough stock, owes her staff money but wont pay them. they wernt serving food because they had run out....they couldnt serve people unless they had the correct change. Had run out of beer.. only selling spirits and mixers etc. Toilets were filthy and pub smelled of vomit.... worst pub ive e ...- Read Darcie's review (94 words)

I have enjoyed the Strawbury Duck on many occasions in the past, but my recent visit was not so good. I should be thankful that the pub was open as when I visited in September 2008 the pub was closed. The Strawbury Duck has definitely been taken over, which is a real shame. We arrived soon after the pub opened so it was quiet and we got served quickly by miserable staff, there are now no menus just a few choices on a blackboard, and quite expensive for the amount you get.
The toilets (ladies) ...- Read linz78's review (136 words)

Strawberry Duck, Entwistle. This used to be very good. I do believe it has been taken over by new owners because the service was so poor it had to be seen to be believed.
The pub had no white or red wine and the bar staff seemed unsure where to search for their stock.
Our food order took 40 minutes to arrive and when it did it had apparently cooked frozen veg and ingredients that had not been mentioned on the menu meaning that I was unable to eat the order. When this was explained to the sta ...- Read Guest's review (137 words)

I have been to the Strawberry Duck a few times before and it was fine. It seems to be under new management and what an absolute shame!
We waited 1hr 30 mins for a sandwich and chips. When they did arrive it was pretty average. I must have ordered from a completely different menu to which the chef was using. There was cheddar instead of mozerella, roasted veg came in the form of a tomato. Frozen chips of which I was expecting home made.
I complained twice due to our long wait, to which the staff ...- Read manchester123's review (147 words)

highly recomended ,even had our wedding there ,but not in the actual pub, but in a stone barn just a few 100 yrds behind it at entwistle reservoir , and then we stayed the night at the strawbury duck in one of the rooms in a four poster bed. great for families and very good car parking space- Read ravenfires's review (116 words)

The Strawbury Duck is a lovely pub situated right next to the Entwistle train station and is a haven for ramblers walking in the nearby Lancashire hills. It's in a beautiful, quiet scenic location and is a lovely country pub with lots of tiny nooks and crannies and a friendly staff.
We went in for a Sunday lunch and found a pub full of people and a sign stating that the waiting time for food was 45 minutes. As we were in no rush we were quite happy to get a drink - there's loads of guest Re ...- Read PixieOfDoom's review (311 words)
