I went to this pub just the other week on sunday 8th nov 2009. It was the worst experience of my life.I went to the bar for a glass of wine to which they hadnt got any no white no red nothing so i asked for a carlsberg they didnt have that either I then asked for a stella which the barman told me they hadnt got any left they didnt even have crisp or straws.I waited 50 mins for my meal when it came it was vile. This pub is a disgrace the land lady sat at the bar most of the day drinking and swearing.I even heard the bar man tell her we wernt happy with are meal which she replied ha we have there money now.The only good point was the bar man was very nice and that was it. DONT GO HERE

I couldn't believe how much this place has changed, its now a horrible place, food was very poor quality, took an hour to be served by staff who don't know how to smile, I'll never go there again

I'm remember being a kid and going on walks up though edgeworth, we use to always make the effort to go to the Strawberry Duck, such was its reputation and rightly so.
However the last 3 or 4 times I have been has completely shattered any memories I had of this place. I totally agree with the other reviews that the place has gone downhill, even the building is looking shoddy. Food was a poor and waiting times a joke.

Either way I wouldn't bother try the Black Bull or one of the other pubs nea ...

We went to the strawbury duck in Dec 2008, horrible experience!! We were told by some of the locals that this pub used to be terrific, instead it is being run by a lady who yells at the customers, never has enough stock, owes her staff money but wont pay them. they wernt serving food because they had run out....they couldnt serve people unless they had the correct change. Had run out of beer.. only selling spirits and mixers etc. Toilets were filthy and pub smelled of vomit.... worst pub ive e ...

I have enjoyed the Strawbury Duck on many occasions in the past, but my recent visit was not so good. I should be thankful that the pub was open as when I visited in September 2008 the pub was closed. The Strawbury Duck has definitely been taken over, which is a real shame. We arrived soon after the pub opened so it was quiet and we got served quickly by miserable staff, there are now no menus just a few choices on a blackboard, and quite expensive for the amount you get.
    The toilets (ladies) ...

Strawberry Duck, Entwistle. This used to be very good. I do believe it has been taken over by new owners because the service was so poor it had to be seen to be believed.

The pub had no white or red wine and the bar staff seemed unsure where to search for their stock.

Our food order took 40 minutes to arrive and when it did it had apparently cooked frozen veg and ingredients that had not been mentioned on the menu meaning that I was unable to eat the order. When this was explained to the sta ...

I have been to the Strawberry Duck a few times before and it was fine. It seems to be under new management and what an absolute shame!
We waited 1hr 30 mins for a sandwich and chips. When they did arrive it was pretty average. I must have ordered from a completely different menu to which the chef was using. There was cheddar instead of mozerella, roasted veg came in the form of a tomato. Frozen chips of which I was expecting home made.
I complained twice due to our long wait, to which the staff ...

The Strawbury Duck is a lovely pub situated right next to the Entwistle train station and is a haven for ramblers walking in the nearby Lancashire hills. It's in a beautiful, quiet scenic location and is a lovely country pub with lots of tiny nooks and crannies and a friendly staff.

We went in for a Sunday lunch and found a pub full of people and a sign stating that the waiting time for food was 45 minutes. As we were in no rush we were quite happy to get a drink - there's loads of guest Re ...
