Good Points: Fast when I can connect

    Bad Points: Cant connect

General comments: Its fast when I can get it to work but it drops connection all the time. I end up rebooting my Netgear wireless router constantly in order for it to pick up a signal from Talk Talk - it is so frustrating. I dont know if its their network, or my equipment. All I can say is that it didnt happen before I switched to Talk Talk, and there is never a problem on their side according to their technical support people - major coincidence - but I doubt it.... NOT IMPRESSED.

cheap and good when it works, but any problem, and the customer service has been unhelpful. I am changing my provider. HANDY TIP FOR ROUTER CONNECTION PROBLEMS: IF you are disconnected, then reconnected but your router does not work, and do not have a talktalk router (like me), just unplug your router from mains power supply, then re-plugg, wait for the router settings to adjust (about 2mn), and bingo! If something messes up, your router settings get lost, but they can come back automatically ...

Having read abysmal reviews of TalkTalk service etc, I thought I had to look elsewhere. I have taken anyhow the (perceived) risk, and all has gone super smoothly. I get a constant 6.6 download speed and 0.4 upload. The telephone line is as good as when I was with BT. MY router setup I have adjusted in few minutes. I guess a lot of bad reviews must have been from times when TT was deluged by too many new customers. So far (three days) I am more than happy.

For the past year or so when it has gone wrong TT have said there is an equilibrium problem and they seem to plug me in to different settings or lines until the 'dsl' light remains on. Why cant they leave things alone when they work? More recently they have not been that much help because I don't use their router and I have to get in touch with Zyxel with all the various codes and setting numbers supplied by TT. The added difficulty is that it's difficult to understand what the adviser is saying ...

I switched to Talk Talk from BT landline and Orange broadband on 4th July 2008 and almost immediately, I realised what a mistake I'd personally made. The connection was very quick and easy and that is the only good thing I can say about Talk Talk. They didn't include everything I thought I would receive in the deal, and later just said, sorry. Their customer service and technical support I feel has been unhelpful. My download speed is 523 Kbps, while quality of service is 16% and that is on a g ...

We had been with Orange (wanadoo) (freeserve) for 5 years speed 2mb`s unable to have a faster connection according to Orange. We were contacted by Talk Talk as we already had our phone line and calls provided by them, and had no problems at all . The broadband router arrived our go live date was 10 days later , they keep you informed ) I can honestly say very very pleased with our 5.8mb`s speed, Setting up the router is foolproof, we have been using it for 10 days now, no dropped connection at a ...

I feel I don't receive a reliable connection even after phoning up to complain five times over the past four months! I have had to wait between thirty and sixty minutes on their helplines for any assistance (with horrendous music - and even poetry! - to make it worse for me!). When I did finally get assistance, I had to go through the same rigmarole of tests each time: Assistants seem trained to go through the same set of tests and are unable to think outside this and try anything new, or jump ...

Any problems with broadband speed and stability are best sorted via the excellent TalkTalk Members forum. This forum is frequented by many knowledgeable members who are able to offer excellent advice on how to solve problems. This is backed up by the many TalkTalk and Carphone Warehouse staff who are able to perform profile changes and line tests in 'real time'. Many speed and stability problems are sorted out within a very short space of time. Many of the TT and CPWN staff log on outside of the ...

I am currently receiving talk talk broadband and it is working at the heights of half a meg. It is slower than dial up I feel. I now find myself smoke signaling from the roof of my house as this is far more effective. I will soon be investing in homing pigeons so I can get fast messages to my friends. The customer service has been unhelpful and after 15 calls and the same number of hours the problem is not resolved. The sharing of information between staff has been poor in my experience, as wit ...

I have been using talk talk for the last 4 months and cant get connected. I have to keep disconnecting my router. I want to be able to leave my computer on so that it can download programme guide for my media centre to record tv, however every time I go back to the router it has lost its connection. On perusal of the security log it says the LCP is down. When you contact talk talk the technical side take you through some steps and then refer you to another tech support.

I was a happy Talk Talk landline phone customer. Until the 17th of May 2008 when I received a sales call offering me free Broadband for life and an upgrade to the Talk Talk International package. I agreed and when I came off the phone I went online to check customer reviews. And I did not like what I read, poor customer service, poor service quality, and £50p/minute calls to technical support. So I called them back to cancel my order. They said ok, no problem. Two days later I recieved a ...

Waiting time to get through to anyone. At one time whilst waiting I had to listen to appalling music, but this has now been made worse by some ridiculous drivel that they call poetry. It was so bad I felt like putting the phone down. Then who knows, that is perhaps the intention.

I used to be with BT for telephone & broadband, but then changed my telephone to TalkTalk as the call charges were cheaper but kept the BT broadband. I was eventually persuaded to go the whole hog & get the phone & broadband package. BIG BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! The phones OK - no difference between BT & TalkTalk, but the broadband is a TOTAL DISASTER!. It's very slow when it is working, but most of the time all I get is "server not responding" & if it is responding it's often that slow that it's stati ...

I think the service has problems with / non compatibility with phone service, I'd heard that if BT come out and change settings in junction box then line doesn't drop as often, but I don't know if this has any foundation because whatever talk talk do it only works for a week or so for me it seems, the connection drops for no reason I feel and the infuriating thing is they keep telling me it's my computer or phone line but it isn't in my opinion it's their service...

Customer service is quick with no waiting time. Granted their call centre is in india, but the advisor's get straight to the point, only encountered a few problems with the language. Have no real complaints about them, aside from the extremely unstable connection, but they have done everything to try and remedy the problem.
