The retro look of the Vespa LX50 50 speaks for itself, it is simply beautiful. Bad point is too expensive- Read Guest's review (19 words)

Love my vespa lx50.Only had it a couple of months and find it smooth and easy to ride.Bought it second hand and its done quite a lot of miles but the last owner looked after her well and i am sure theres still a lot of scootering left in it yet.
I would tell anyone looking for a first scooter to get the vespa LX.The body is smaller than the other vespas and so lighter and easy to handle.
I am glad i spent the money on a secondhand vespa rather than the same amount on a new flimsey bodied cheap m ...- Read Guest's review (137 words)

I've had my Vespa LX50 for nearly a month and love nipping around London on it. It's perfect, if like me, you're a novice scooter rider and only have short distances in town to make (anything more than 10 miles and you're pushing it a bit).
The bike looks stylish, is a doddle to ride thanks to automatic transmission and has great acceleration (0-20 in about 2 seconds), however the restriction on the speed is a big limitation - only being able to do 27 mph means you feel embarrassed on clear road ...- Read speckiefoureyes's review (236 words)

I completely recommend this scooter. I was worried that a 50cc scooter wouldn't be powerful enough. It is a little slow sometimes on takeoff, but usually it's not a problem. I've easily gone up hills, also have taken riders - making the weight of the passengers 400 lbs, still keeps scooting!- Read Guest's review (89 words)

Had my LX50 about.. Three weeks now? Unfortunately through no fault of my own I am now having to finance £300 worth of repairs.
That aside the LX50 for me has been phenomenal. The ride comfort is sensational. The scooter to look at is.. Stunning to say the least. I find that it is rather slow and the fuel consumption is a little heavy when used daily.
However neither of these put me off and I absolutely adore my LX50.- Read Guest's review (79 words and 1 comment)

I bought this scoot summer of 2006. I've put on about 1100 miles since then. The New England winters don't allow too much riding, so I pretty much bring it out end of April and ride until the end of October. It's a BLAST! I won't have it for a couple of days while the upgrades are added -- that should help with the hills and keeping up with traffic. I wasn't so interested in added speed as I am with more initial acceleration and torque going up hills. Don't know yet how it will affect my gas mil ...- Read biggirls's review (293 words)

The Vespa LX50 is slow, so I upgraded to a 70cc cylinder and a go fast cam. Now she is great. I get 50+ MPH, and around 90MPG. I live in suburban Philadelphia and commute to New Jersey, and have enough speed to stay out of the range if the road rage-ers rushing to work. With the added rear rack, I have more than enough storage. The LX50 (70) is well balanced and easy to ride, furthermore, in this area, a Motor Cycle license is not required. I've had her more than a year and every ride is still e ...- Read P73arsam's review (111 words)

The Vespa LX50 is a beauty, however there are significant issues with the durability. If you don't have private parking in a safe wind free area then don't buy this scooter!
The scooter is too light and will fall off the stand in a moderate breeze. Also as the body is one peice of metal there is no way of replaceing the damaged bodywork without a very costly bill.
This scooter will not look good for more than a week on the London roads. It is advised to buy a scooter with easily replaceable body ...- Read Walker27's review (100 words)

I have had my LX50 for 2+ years and have clocked up just a shade over 10000km. Its such a joy to ride every day, costs a meisley £7 per week to fill up and this beats London transport costs hands down. During winter it can be a little cold to ride (especially the finger tips - buy some good gloves), but the thrill of driving a genuine Vespa is always worth the sacrifice. Its a great city commuter for people traveling less than 100-150 km per week. If you are going to travel further and on ...- Read nebularb's review (242 words)

The Vespa LX50 is a beautiful machine built with classic styling. It is elegant and smooth and very reliable. When you replace the battery, go to one that is sealed so there is no fluid to add. This low speed machine may be perfect when the distances are short, or when speed is absolutely not a consideration. Remember, sometimes keeping up with traffic is an important factor in certain situations. Other times, it is not.
I have two new Vespa scooters purchased the summer of 2007 (GTS ...- Read tglass's review (202 words)

Get your self an Aprilia Sport City 250 for not much more cash. Or just get a proper motorbike to commute on and ride. I see no place in the market for a Vespa for a real rider. These machines are ALL about pose value and have no soul.
The Piaggio Vespa LX50 50 is totally gutless! Even the GTS 250 is anaemic compared to an Aprilia, and they have the same engine.
Move along if you have a brain.- Read duchunter916's review (317 words)

I have had the LX50 for two weeks now and what can I say? I love it! It's really stylish and has a very comfortable ride. Added to that it's a very attractive bike. I've had strangers comment on the looks of it, which may have something to do with the all the chrome design I've added to it!. Have to say though, that if you are a serious commuter, DO NOT go for the 50cc model. I live in London ( commute 18 miles daily ) and it is simply too slow. You will be revving for dear life as articulated l ...- Read colskee's review (252 words)

I have had this beauty since October. It starts first time and has the option of using the kick start too (which looks good when you get the hang of it!). It handles well and works the whole vintage look amazingly. As a 16 year old girl the Vespa stuck out as I was looking for something that would take me from A to B and wasn't overly sporty. I am still surprised at how great the acceleration is but hey I'm not complaining! It's cheap to fill up a tank of petrol and it lasts for ages. Parts for ...- Read Maddie 1989's review (209 words)

OK, seeing as no one has reviewed this scooter I will make this a lengthy review.
First of all I have a restriced Piaggio Vespa (obviosuly only 30mph) and it has amazing acceleration it beat one of my friends Aerox but then after 2 secs he beat me as his is a 100cc lol. I am 16 and take it to school every day the mpg is good I do a full tank with 6 pounds and it will last me about 140km. (do the maths to convert to miles). I thought the small wheels would have been prone to slipping in bad weat ...- Read Paolo11's review (282 words)
