    Good Points: Erm...


    Bad Points: Some staff, rooms, cleanliness, our hotel experience in general


    General comments: Although my holiday to Kardamena was probably the best week of my life the accommodation was a complete and utter let down. We read many good reviews about the hotel, all of which did not match our experience.
    When we first arrived we were shown to our rooms by a seemingly very rude and short tempered Greek man. The rooms were basic at best at first glance, but after closer inspection were absolutely filthy, especially the bathroom and the mattress. We complained about these and were assured it would be sorted, but throughout our week in the hotel nothing was done. We were promised our rooms would be serviced and cleaned everyday when we booked, but from what we saw this never happened, our bins were never even emptied once.
    The other prominent staff member was a Geordie man. He was frequently swearing at us and around us which was not appreciated in the slightest. Other guests also raised concerns about this to us. He was particularly rude and very aggressive the morning after our second night, when a drunken accident caused us to break a small plant in the hotel. We were very apologetic and admitted instantly that we were the culprits, but he and the Greek man just weren't happy. Looking at the plant we think it was worth 20 euros at most, but they tried to fine us 300 euros!! We were outraged and rang out tour rep at Kosmar, but the two staff stood firm. In the end we were forced to pay 115 euros simply because that's all we had at the end of the holiday and they had our passports so we had no choice.
    Overall Kardamena was a fantastic resort with a lot to offer for everyone, but I don't recommend this place.
