Brunei was my favourite airline until recently, they've been going downhill since last year. We went to Dubai beginning of this year and it was the worst experience ever! Our TVs didn't work (as USUAL, same thing happens to me every time I fly Brunei), the AC wasn't functioning properly; so we were both hot and extremely bored on a 18 hour flight, how awesome is that?? When we complained they said the AC was fine and nobody else complained, they were very rude to us, they couldn't find us any free seats that had working TV's and then ended up telling us that the entertainment is actually complimentary and they're not obliged to provide it. Can you believe that?? I would NEVER have flown with them if they had stated that they don't provide in-flight entertainment.

As for myself, I tried to complain to their site many times, and to their management at the actual airport during a stopover but have never gotten a reply back, very disappointed considering I'm such a frequent flyer with Brunei. They don't care about customer loyalty or customer service. ALSO they have the worst airport ever for a so called "rich" country, and HUGE 10 hour stopovers with nothing to do!

They are very budget so if you're short on cash and don't mind the "sometimes working complimentary TVs" then go ahead, but I'd definitely would not recommend it.

when I booked my return flight heathrow to auckland 6 months ahead royal brunei was the cheapest around even though they charged me £100 to take a stopover in brunei but as the months went by other airlines dropped their prices could have gone cathay or air new-zealand for less if I had waited but it may have been a gamble if fares had continued to rise I expected a worse flight having read some of the comments left by other passengers but it was not to bad if a bit cramped. planes on tim ...

Royal Brunei Airlines have polite and helpful staff, good food on plane. all flights on time.
business class check in and boarding could be much better flat beds on business class are not flat, and not very comfortable, no alcoholic drinks served on plane.
when re boarding aircraft at Dubai, business class passengers were given no priority, all other airlines do give priority to 1st and business class passengers. aircraft are clean but old.

I flew from London to Dubai and then had a connecting flight from Dubai with Emirates. I was really scared of the reviews with Royal Brunei and I was expecting lot of bad things or maybe my luggage would be lost....surprisingly it was one of the most pleasant flights. Food was good and I felt the seats were very comfy.Reached on time....I wouldn't mind travelling with them again. Maybe it depends on the stewardess you get, sometimes they are very helpful and some of them are very rude.Overall I ...

I booked a return flight from London to Sydney through STA Travel for Royal Brunei Airways and it was a disaster from start to finish. The original itinerary was to fly from London to Brunei Brunei to Sydney with a 12 hour break between flights in Brunei. I thought it was quite odd to have such a long break between connecting flights without offering accommodation as has been the case when I flew to Sydney with Air Japan and Korean Airways both of whom put me up in nice hotels on the return jour ...

Flew London- Dubai- Brunei- Brisbane Return March/April 2008. This is definitely the worst airline I have flown from beginning to end. Not such a disaster as I have read from many below but an unpleasant journey nonetheless. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The flight schedule changed so many times it was ridiculous and I ended up with 4 different itineraries. Eventually I had to phone the airline to find out what time our flights were once and for all. Once on board you notice straight ...

Ryal Brunei Airlines was the best we've ever travelled with. It was our longest flight too, with a stopover in Dubai. 1 hour, enough time to do a bit of shopping in the huge duty-free. The muslim prayers before takeoff and before landing (with sub-titles) were interesting, and comforting. There are facilities for prayers for the Muslims although none seem to take this up.
The food was very good, plenty of comfort seatwise too. The hostesses were attentive and good entertainment. This is a ...

Flew Heathrow to Dubai with Royal Brunei Airlines. We had the usual trouble with the seat-back screens - there were 4 of us flying and we were lucky to have 1 screen working between us so rotated around........but the food and service was excellent. I'm 6'4", and even with the passenger in front of me insisting on reclining all the way, I wasn't in any discomfort. Remember that these flights are cheap, so lots of families use them - luckily the little bag of goodies they supply have ear plugs. ...

I was not convinced when my travel agent said that Royal Brunei was a good airline. My son and I had wanted a return flight from Heathrow to Bangkok but Royal Brunei was the only airline that had seats available on the day we wanted to travel and return.

Check-in at Heathrow was fine but I was surprised at how small the plane was and wondered whether it was intended to be used for longhaul travel. Legroom was very poor. As we approached the runway for takeoff the captain asked passengers to ...
