It's hard to be critical of the Midtown. It may not look very luxurious, and it doesn't have a restaurant or a big fancy lobby. However, it's position is ideal (just 5 minutes' walk from Copley Plaza, 10-15 mins from Boston Common) and the rooms are HUGE. Staff are very pleasant and if you want breakfast there are loads of places to eat within a short walk. It has free parking (amazing for Boston) and a swimming pool. Yeah you CAN pay more for a more expensive hotel, but why bother?... (read more)
