My initial experience with Kfh (Crouch end) was promising. They had a very good selection of properties on their books and the agent who showed us around answered all our queries and was very friendly. That is until we handed over a hefty fee, deposit and first months rent. After moving in, we called the managing agent to try and resolve a multitude of issues. We were informed that no the alarm didnt work and we could pay to have it installed, no the firepcae was not connected, no the windows did not open and no they couldnt fix the falling doors. That the agent who had shown us around no longer worked for them and he had given us incorrect information. Over the next few months we were insulted by one member of staff on repeated occasions and followed this up with an official complaint with head office. Nothing has come of it. We eventually decided to move out after 2 gas leaks where TRANSCO deemed our boiler andf lack of ventilation unsafe but kfh engineers insisted there was nothing wrong.

We are now being bombarded with multiple calls asking us to leave at 10 am on the last day of our tenancy because the new tenants have been offered the same move in day. They would like us to leave having had the property professionally cleaned as well. And finally to add insult to injusry, they are charging us 40 pounds plus VAT to provide a reference to our new landlords.

I didn't mind paying for a reputable agent when we signed up, but the service we have received continues to astound me and leaves me feeling frustrated and powerless that there is no regulatory body to refer such matters to. From now on I will take my chances and deal directly with landlords only.

I would give no stars if that were an option.

We rented a property from kfh, which was located in Chislehurst. We had problems with the estate agents from day one. The level of administration is an absolute joke (and not a funny one) we were four individuals renting a property (and had never met) and all contact was done through just one of us including sending us the contract, three of us recieved the contract at the very last minute giving us just one day to read and sign it. The estate agents didn't get enough keys cut and so we had to g ...

This is the first time I have ever done this, but the service I received was so bad I felt compelled to write a review .

For the first time last year, I became a landlord with a flat, that I originally lived in, becoming too small for my growing family. Due to the poor state of the market, it made to sense (at the time) to rent the place out instead of suffering a loss when trying to sell it.

As I was a novice I decided to use a supposed reputable estate agent. After speaking to a couple of es ...

KFH is officially the worst property agency we've ever dealt with. Not only the staff are not the sharpest tools in the box, but also they fail to deal with any of the issues that come up during tenancy. My husband and I rented two flats with them and, on both occasions they were unhelpful. None of the calls were ever returned, unless the matter involved THEM getting the money, of course. In both instances we waited for the deposit to be returned more than 2 months and in the case of the second ...

The people that posts on website like these usually do so because they are unhappy. The pleased costumers hardly ever bothers. Hence I thougt I should break the mold and write a possitive review.
We bought a house through the Southfields branch of KFH a few years ago. While house hunting we obviously also contacted a number of other agencies. However I have to say KFH was by far the best of the lot.
I found this agency very proactive and also patient. They did their best to try to understand o ...

From our experience, KFH have been consistently unhelpful, especially in the following ways:
When they showed us around, they knew nothing about the house and just wanted to get the visit done as quick as possible, even giving us incorrect information regarding the date we could move in.
They sent the contracts to the wrong address 3 times, even though we expressly told them where to send it.
They never provided us with a copy of the contract, despite 3 requests.
The landlord is switching es ...

I only viewed properties with Kinleigh Folkard and Haward estate agents. Incredibly overpriced (I'm guessing they get a %), and the info they give you is incorrect - one example - said wooden floors throughout when it was (very) cheap laminate, said working real fire - was gas fire. We realise estate agents will talk things up, but this is ridiculous. The properties we viewed had all been on the market for months - most probably due to the overpricing, about £200 pcm over other comparabl ...

Kinleigh Folkard and Haward estate agents under-valued my property by about 5%. No doubt had I gone with them they would have made a quick sale, but I was not looking for a quick sale. In fact, I was looking for the best price possible, which I achieved with another agent.

If they are on 1.5% commission, they are not worried about the £10k-15k less they could achieve, because this means between £150-200 less in commission.

Me and my housemate found a property through Kinleigh Folkard and Haward estate agents in Wimbledon about 6 months ago. Since then we have reached the conclusion that they are the kind of company that make you pay in every possible situation. They favor the home-owners against the renters.

An example; they didn't let us move in for 1 week, although we had signed the contracts, and they blamed our guarantors checks. Later we found out that only after 2 weeks they sent the reference forms and b ...

In my opinion, Kinleigh Folkard and Haward estate agents make Foxtons look good. My girlfriend recently had a terrible time with these guys. They left the flat damaged (pulled down some curtains), and didn't even let her know. They even forgot to inform her of an offer on the property!! Worst of all, we had to re-word all the bumph on the web site describing the flat, as they gave it 5 nano seconds worth of thought.
