Honda X8R 50cc - Amazing moped it was easy to find out how to de-rescricted once i got that done it hits 55-60mph.
it did cost me around 250 quid mark to do but its worth it only peds that catch me is the ones with a 70cc kit.
Amzing 1st bike for anyone, so easy to learn everything on it and about it.
    Buy one!!

Honda X8R is a terrible bike, sluggish, big, not good handling corners, and the clutch always brakes. :)

I have had my honda since new 1999. Great moped, has never let me down
I would never part with it.

They should make more bikes like the Honda X8R.

Had my Honda X8R 50cc from second hand, put on a leo vince TT exhaust, 6.2g rollers and race clutch springs, does 45 with cdi restricted, but the power is immense (used to a 4 stroke restricted to 30)

Great bike starts first time, costs a bit in petrol though.

I have had my x8rs for about 2 months now and i have de restricted it fully.. Polini Outer Pulley, Polini Variator + Belt, Polini Race Clutch, Leo Vince zx exhaust and Mallosi cdi unit and i am very happy with it. Sits very comfortable at 60 mph on flat and goes silly speeds down hill. Uprated the brakes to wavy rotors and carbon pads and stops on a penny! love it! just costs too much to de restrict!

Awesome machine, used mine to cover 45 rural Irish miles everyday and she loved it. let me down once inexplicably, I'd killed 2 bikes doing this run so failing once is excusable. It barely used fuel, was easy to fix. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this to someone wanting to get from A -B everyday reliably & cheaply if not quickly. To give it speed, do the racing conversion, New ECU, New Exhaust & new gearbox. good for 60mph

Got mine late may and have just passed my CBT (CBT is easy since you dont need any theory, but good to learn it anyway) and it is such a great bike it is comfy, not got big tank but only £4.20 to fill up! But I love it and looks mean and sporty better than a common speedfight or unreliable Aprilia.

I have only had my Honda X8R for a couple of weeks and I really love it. the only factor that gets me down is the speed. Its too slow. I want it derestricted but no-one I no can do it. Is there anyone that can help me do this? if so add your comment.

It looks nice and sporty however it is hard to derestrict. Overall a good bike, nice looking and good value for money.

    Very good bike.

    Recommended to any potential buyer

Also the bike is quite uncommon and stands out with a smooth running and a nice sound!

And as for the paint job it is probably the coolest standard paint job on any ped in any colour!

I used the Honda X8R 50cc scooter for my CBT and went on the road for 2 hours and was long enough to realise that it was not the scooter for me.
It had 16,000 on the clock and that meant it was probably worn-out and slow.
Apart from that it got me from A-B in good time.

I would recommend the Honda X8R 50cc to anyone, and it is cheap to buy, I got mine for £600 and I am pleased. I do about 12 miles a day which adds up to quite a lot over the last 3 months and it is still doing fine.

Over all the Honda X8R is really cool, I've had mine just over a year and not once has it let me down. I do on average 45 miles a day to and from 6th Form college, and it gets me there no probs. You could run this bike on chip fat and it would still get you where you wanted to go. Mine does 60 mph with an exhaust change, variator and cdi change great fun. Also has the biggest under seat storage of any 50cc moped can hold 15kg! It's like a bloody manhole! nice 1 Honda!

    Also, can handle a 70cc ...
