Slight delay on outward journey to lake garda, on return journey delayed for just over 1hour , we were not informed it was a different carrier taking us home. Alba star plane staff were polite but difficult to understand . The seats we had were good but it was obvious it had not been cleaned as there were dirty paper hankies in front pockets also full of sweet wrappers. I was sorry for those seated at back of plane as staff ran out of time serving food which also had a very limited selection . Thomson own flight have a good selection and served quickly. I think Thompson's must keep passengers informed of any changes . I was a bit let down by the standard of this airline cleanliness.

Dissatisfaction ;-)) despite fitting into extra leg room exit seat going out. I was unable to do seat belt up in same seating going home. That was not my issue. My issue was through poor communication from a crew member I ended up moving to a normal Isle seat. During the journey , Ms Edwards apologies and said there had been extra leg room seat available , that were non emergency exit, which we could have had. This was not made clear or offered. Despite the fact that we had paid extra. Another couple were moved from further behind row 32. I was charged €4.35 for a coffee. I think the exchange rate is £3.11. In my opinion not worth it.

Thompson holiday to Jamaica, had upgraded to premium and pre booked seats. The seats seem to have a lot of room but this is deceptive as especially difficult to get out of the middle one especially when seats in front are tilted. also unusually had a lot of cramps on this flight not something I had experienced on other flights! the journey out was better as we had the seats we had pre-booked. where as on the return we were told the manifest had us in different seats although we had the pre-booked seat number paperwork!- The service in Premium was good and the food and drinks service was great, just a shame about the seats.

I would like to ask Thompson if they have stopped asking people if they would like a quiet room or pool view etc on holiday also where you would like to sit on the plane as we weren t never asked just placed where they had space

I have been " fighting " with Thomson since June 2013---to get some form of compensation for " extra leg room " seats--resold by the airline, after our sister in law was medically off loaded with her husband--enroute to Egypt, in an Athens divert. Their seats on the return flight were resold, but Thomsons refused to refund the £ 130 the extra leg room had cost--the seats themselves are covered by charter rules , so obviously non --- all I wanted was a " gesture"--like a voucher ,or something similar. It took the threat of county court to achieve this--but FINALLY a sensible employee in their CEO'S department--agreed we had been badly treated, given our sister in laws stroke en route. Will we fly with them again--maybe! Not our first choice( no pun intended)---I believe good PR IS THE MEASURE OF A GOOD AIRLINE---Thomsons fell short. Cabin crew excellent---management need retraining in lots of areas !

Flew to Punta Cana and back on Dreamliner, goot seat pitch although seats are a bit narrow. Thomson is now the Ryanair of long haul, apart from one small water and one coffee with your meal all other drinks have to be purchased including water which should be free on a long flight. However entertainment is good, staff were pleasant and efficient on both trips, meal going out was terrible, passable on the return.

Premium cabin was extremely disappointing. The seats were not very comfortable, I expected a bit more comfort for the price we paid. The tray table was filthy, I had to ask for it to be cleaned. There were sweet wrappers and crumbs in the seat pocket. The crew on the outbound journey were quite attentive but were slow bringing drinks or refills. The inbound flight was delayed 8 hours, the plane was not very clean, again the tray table was dirty and the seat pocket had crisps and chewing gum wrappers in it. The crew were not very friendly, they spent an awful lot of time with the curtain pulled across while they were either eating or chatting. It was often too much trouble to answer the call button, drinks were almost non existent. I would NOT book Thomson premium cabin again and would not recommend them to family or friends.

Luton to Lanzarote and return. After some really poor experiences with Thomson over the years, booked this flight because of convenient times. Flight departed on time, but a couple of flight crew pretty uninterested in passengers. Only had a cup of tea on outbound flight, £2.50 but ok. Return flight started to board nice and early.Aircraft was newer and a tad more comfortable, cabin crew at the rear far more pleasant. Spent £15 on food and drink, well we were hungry.Chunky chips, 11 in box for £2.50 and were awful, none of this is good value. To sum up, still do not think Thomson are that good, and had rough landing, but it was windy.

On June 10th---we travelled as a family of four adults to Hurghada, Egypt. Two hours into the flight, my sister suffered a stroke, and we diverted to Athens , Greece, where she and my brother in law were offloaded, to go to a local hospital--where they stayed for two and a half weeks, flying home by British Airways. Thomsons, via the captain, on our flight, asked if we would do them a favour--rather than lose our slot to get back into the air quickly--could we take our relatives luggage on to Eygpt with us--we obviously agreed. This then did not futher inconvenience other Thomson customers! On our return, i noticed our missing relatives extra leg room seats were resold, as obviouly were their flight tickets. So, on my return, having paid some £ 1800 on my debit card for all our tickets, i wrote to the C.E O.--GUESS WHAT--TWO E MAILS LATER--ZERO !! I HAD HIGHLY PRAISED THE CABIN STAFF, and obviously hoped in recognitiopn of the service we had done Thomsons at Athens re luggage, and the fact that the tickets to return my sister were not used, Thomsons might ( huh!!!) offer a small voucher towards our next Egypt flight. We travelled with them at Christmas 2012, to Hurghada, and had intended to again this year. SILENCE---UNTIL I INVOLVED TWITTER, AND THE THE MOST FACILE, AND IGNORANT CALLS FROM THE SO CALLED DIRECTORS OFFICE---probably some child sitting at a computer somewhere in the Thomson complex !! Totally useless individual--reading from a script! To date--no CEO contact--and will be utilising them again--would you ! Truly bad bad bad " p.r"--from a company who claim to be so professional--perphaps it is time the C.E.O. was moved ? Just totally disgusted--and i think i would rather suffer " Easy Jet 2--and that is saying something! I am, due to the work i do, in a position to publicize this further in a very public way--i intend to do so.Companies in the UK, who disrespect their loyal customers do not deserve to be in business---and until i hear directly from the C.E O, i will keep airing this saga, via newspapers, and via television travel programmes--Thomsons--i did try to do it the correct way. On wanting a holiday in Cyprus for many years, we booked our holiday with Olympic and selected a Thomson flight in preference to the others on offer. As we have travelled with Thomson previously and have been very pleased with the Aircraft, the seating and the service. My wife and I have travelled with various Airlines on short haul flights and found most to be fairly good, but agreed Thomson the best on this occasion. However, this would turn out to be an exception. The flight out TOM4314 to Cyprus was changed from 10.35 to 14.55 on the 8th May 2013. The earlier flight was just right for us as we were picking up a hire car and driving to a location about 33killometers from the Airport. As you can imagine, we had no previous knowledge of the geography of Cyprus, and to arrive after sunset was to say at least, very interesting. not to worry we thought, and eventually arrived at our destination. After a good holiday and arriving back at Paphos Airport we boarded our different Thomson Aircraft flight TOM4315, sitting in our allocated seats row 35DE+F. Sitting, waiting for everyone to board, I looked at the way the luggage was being loaded. I noticed one man in particular was unloading the trucks and throwing the baggage on the belt with unreasonable force. Thinking that would put paid to anything breakable. Only to find out about five hours later, when I picked my case from the turntable, my new case was smashed, with some of the contents showing through two gaps. With Aircraft almost ready to go we soon realised we were surrounded by parents with badly behaved and loud children. Shortly after being instructed to make ready for taxiing and take off, we had small feet pushing the back of our seats, which carried on throughout most of the flight. Not only did we have constant shouting, crying and banging, but I am sure we had seats only a child could comfortably sit in. The leg room in our seats seem less than we have had experienced years ago. On waiting to get off the Aircraft at Gatwick, being some of the last to walk to the exit point at the front, we could hardly believe the mess around some of the seats. Surely there are many lessons to be learned from this flight which could be very constructive to Thomson, and surely we can all be much happier. We are apprehensive, as we fly with Thomson to Parga later in the year.

returned from majorca last week - flight attendants were very experienced and never stopped for a rest! seating was a little uncomfortable especially when your 6ft2. Food was different, they now serve pizza's - chips - bacon baguettes and wraps me and my partner decided to go for the chips and baguette. they were surprisingly ok - chips needed a little vinegar but other than that they were nice. pilot kept us informed of route and progress which was comforting - all in all it was a good flight and a good start to the holiday. THANKS THOMSON!!!

LGW-Cancun. The outbound flight was on an old First choice plane, although good seat pitch, seats were uncomfortable. Entertainment OK but disappointed with choice. Went standard class but noted that on this plane premium seats and pitch appeared to be no better. Some of the crew were friendly but some seemed only interested in dishing out food as quickly as possible and then all getting together at back of plane for a chat. My partner had vegetarian meal which was served first while I had to wait 15 min for mine. On the return flight our meals were served together. Return flight was better, Thomson plane which was more modern, crew were 100% better but they were all from Manchester which may explain it.

Flew with Thomson to Kos, we have always booked with them and have flew all over. Egypt, Kenya, Greece, etc and have always been satisfied with the flights and care you receive. Previous to this flight I had read some reviews and they were not very good ones and I though no way have Thomson gone down hill that much, but much to my disappointment I must agree with them. On the flight outward bound, flight was on time boarding was good but the plane was old and tatty, seats were very cramped we booked extra leg room and I am so glad we did but that cost us £100 each, crew only spoke when had to, sold very expensive food and drink. Captain was good gave two up to date reports during the flight. No entertainment. Flight landed 20 mins early. On return flight boarding was free for all, plane was a lot better more modern leather upholster seats (must be the ones that they use to transport German tourist as they only get the best) still no entertainment, had bacon baguette which was like rubber but the crew were a lot more cheerful and seemed more interested in their clients. I have always booked with Thomson but I think I would have second thoughts about flying with them, they seem to be getting a bit like easy jet. Sorry Thomson.

Not my first Thomson flight but hopefully my last, we were kept waiting on the tarmac for an hour for late passengers to board meaning an extra hour in an extremely uncomfortable cramped seat, after finally taking off I asked for a snack box but was told due to a busy flight out they had run out of these (back to back flights) not catered for. An announcement was then made that a selection of duty free was available (not a full selection due to the busy flight out). After what can only be described as the worst 7 hours I've ever known we landed at Gatwick but due to out late take off we were no where near arrivals and had to get a shuttle bus for a rather long journey, you don't need this after everything else. Beware flying with Thomson Airways.

My husband and I travelled to Turkey during August with Thomson Fly who we have used many times before. This time on check-in (we were actually very early no-one else there) we were told that we would have to sit apart as all other seats had been pre-booked. However, when we got on the plane, my seat was between a mother and her daughter, with their teenage son sitting two rows in front in the same row as my husband!! We had intentionally been seated apart and this was an obvious ploy to get people to pay the extra to sit together on the return flight. As it turned out, the lady asked if her son could take my seat (excellent) and I took her sons seat and ended up sitting with my husband in the end. Come on Thomson, stop playing silly games - you could have seated us together but obviously chose not to! When we left the plane we were even told of a 5 year old that couldn't sit with their parents (initially)....... You're better than this !!!

Question,
how come Thomson can sell duty free drinks in bottles yet the normal bar service at the same time on the same plane has VAT charged and shown on the receipt.
Who is receiving the VAT? This doesn't make senseand seems like a scam.
Written on: 28/05/2011
I work for another airline. Basically, duty free cannot be consumed onboard, not just for safety reasons, but also tax/duty. Meanwhile, the airline is charged duty on the bar contents and the bars contents are indeed scrutinised by the "the bond" who are answerable to customs and excise. Plus, remember you were on a UK registered aircraft and many of the laws and regs of being anywhere in the UK also apply onboard.

Vat is not for duty free.
Vat is value added tax and it goes to company who have to pay a vat in country where is registered business address.

Had one weeks stay in La Palma Princess La Palma. If you want quiet and dont want to shop or go anywhere this place would suit. Thomson reps were excellent when leaving to go home the arriving plane could not land and had to go to Tenerife and that is where all the customers went as well to pick up the plane, on the ferry. Overnight stay in hotel then to Tenerife airport for home, which was also delayed due to technical problems. Finished with over 23 hour delay. Not Thompsons fault but the weather. So be ware when booking this hotel, airport is ruled by the weather and any wind could cause problems.

Thomsons and First choice seem to have merged and are somewhat lacking in basic customer service training?
Example
On our outbound flight the cabin crew came round quite late into the flight promoting a drinks offer that was taken up by some passengers sitting near us and then returned quite soon after to tell these people "finish them now or we'll have to go round again and brake hard on landing" Wonderfull if your a little nervous!
Sorry First Choice - Thomsons or whatever you are but you wont be seeing me again?

I flied with Thomson, last month from London to Bodrum, Turkey. It was the first time I fly with them. The flight had a slight delay for no obvious reason. In-flight they offer a lot of entertainment and good quality food but you have to pay for everything though, the prices are quite reasonable, having in mind you are on a plane, the movies that they offer are really new, just came out on DVD, the staff were very pleasant and very helpful,
However during our flight they had probably switched the air conditioning on to the max as it was freezing cold in the cabin, this made the flight quite uncomfortable, despite that I could say I am quite happy with Thomson,

Glasgow - Dalaman - Glasgow
Very comfortable flight and good in-flight food and entertainment and cabin crew polite and helpful
But the flight times were really bad and the flights alone were far too expensive. A tip, Thomas Cook offer cheaper flights for similar quality of service

I would agree, we have recently flown back from Girona and my daughter of 8 who is a TYPE 1 diabetic, recently diagnosed was made to sit on her own 2 rows back from me, even though we were the first coach to check in at the airport, unfortunately the staff at Girona were very slow and took over an hour to check us in. Thomson's where aware of this hidden disability.
