On wanting a holiday in Cyprus for many years, we booked our holiday with Olympic and selected a Thomson flight in preference to the others on offer. As we have travelled with Thomson previously and have been very pleased with the Aircraft, the seating and the service. I booked and paid for the holiday on line. Booked holidays at work and started to get all exicted when the tickets arrived. One week later I'm called to say I don't have a flight. Eh? For the past 10 years, my wife and I have experienced re-routed flights to pick up people from Gatwick, re-routed via the Azores because the aircraft was not big enough to get to Britain, failure to notify of a pick up due to the coach breaking down, delays of nearly 6 hours in 2011 without compensation. In September 2010 my flight to Rhodes was delayed for 18 hours, passengers were treated appallingly and I have been unsuccessfully trying to claim compensation ever since. Cattle class seats, chavtastic cabin crew. I was on a 4 hr flight to Canaries last year, 3 hrs of which felt like sitting in a shopping centre (literally), with teenagers (cabin crew) running around giggling and taking the pizass out of others (passengers). First of all the staff are super arrogant and rude! i have never seen anything like it. Delays going both ways, 0 explanation or apology. On over 11 hour flight they run out of food and had only 1 working toilet out of 5, you had to queue for 45 minutes, on 11 hour flight not ones they offer a glass of water, you were only allowed 1 cup of tea or coffee with your meal. I flew from Luton to Dalaman on 12/10/12 returning on 27/10/12. Both flights were a misery. The man next to me kept pushing me so I was hunched the whole time. When I complained to crew I was met with a sarcastic response. The innuendo was you're cattle class and we don't care. The aim of the flight is to flog more stuff, food which stinks and is expensive and then duty free. Flights on time both outbound and inbound. No complaints here. However, my husband and I were split up on the outbound flight. Not great for a 10 hour flight. Spare seats noted once on the flight so feel that better plannin at check in could be improved. Possibly a ploy to get customers to book pre seats at an extra cost. Customer service needs to improve. Recently travelled from Manchester to Antalya in a party of 4. Paid for seat reservation to allow us all to sit together we then were offered extra leg room seats at the airport and paid in full with no allowance for the monies already paid. We were given row 38 and then told by a flight attendant and a Thomson rep at Antalya these are not extra legroom seats, this was confirmed by a Thomson telephone agent on our return. returned from majorca last week - flight attendants were very experienced and never stopped for a rest! seating was a little uncomfortable especially when your 6ft2. Food was different, they now serve pizza's - chips - bacon baguettes and wraps me and my partner decided to go for the chips and baguette. they were surprisingly ok - chips needed a little vinegar but other than that they were nice. pilot kept us informed of route and progress which was comforting - all in all it was a good... Thomson fly have taken a massive step backwards in aviation, even boasting in their in flight magizine that they were the first airline to offer an in flight meal. They now on 'short hawl' flights offer no in flight meal, or entertainment and let me tell you on a five hour flight it is bloody boring. I'm not being funny but It's a charter airline. Thomson are on the same comparible level as Easyjet and Thomas cook in terms of service; it's a budget carrier...
You get what you pay for i'm afraid. If you're happy to pay an extra £200 per person to fly with Emirates or Singapore Airlines short haul then you'll get the 'service' you expect.
Who needs a hot meal on a two hour flight anyway? You've obviusly not recently tasted any Thomson/Thomas Cook in flight meals.

Upgraded to premium. Flight out to Mexico on time. Return 50mins late, not too bad. On the way home they ran out of mags, not given the full choice of meals as they had run out of two! 1st time ive gone with Thompson. Wouldnt pay extra again! (read more)

We are arrived at the airport for 7 as we was flying at 9 .15 , we queued for an hour to be told our flight was delayed by 10 hours and we would be flying at 7 at night . they said they was gonna put us up in a hotel, wich was lies they sent us there for dinner . of which there was nothing for young kids to eat . The airline should have provided you with a written explaination why the delay occured ~ if not seek this now. You may be entitled to monetary compensation once the results of the ECJ hearing are formally released at the end of October ~ whether you decide to pursue a claim is obviously up to you as the airline will not just pay out unless you really push hard.

Belfast to Mahon (Menorca). Both flights on time, staff friendly yet professional and decent leg room. No crazy weighing of hand luggage and 1.5kgs over my paid for 15kgs was permitted no questions asked. Staff really lovely, fun, caring and genuine - take note a lot of airlines. Would recommend. Well the flight took 4 hrs and 50 mins to Dalaman. The flight was going well but we hit severe turbulence and everybody was throwing up and the cabin crew didnt do nothing about it. the chips where like cardboard but they where very apologetic about the accident. Just flown back on Monday 8th Aug from Turkey, Having being told twice by Thompson reps not to buy food at airport as its over priced, Get onto plane and ask can i order hot food only to be told you only get to order on the way out but they will come with food later on. Im having an extremely hard time with Thomsons Airline (TUI). On our recent flight back from Florida myself and my partner were asked to downgrade to economy to accomodate a family of three (including one child) to enable them to sit together. There were enough seats in the cabin for everyone but due to poor planning from Thomsons the family was unable to sit together. I travelled from Belfast to Faro on 12th July and all I can say that Thomson provide very poor service. As is usual with Belfast weather, it was cold and damp when we got on the plane, automatically the air conditioning was turned on, everyone was reaching for their bags for a jumper or something to put on but as we were travelling to faro, many passengers did not have a jumper with them. WE travelled in a party of 6, including 2 teenagers and one person over 6ft. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We honestly couldn't fault anything. Leg room is ample, the food was good, service was excellent. The entertainment was excellent. Coming home, we all had a pillow and blanket laid on our seats with a newspaper. These guys weren't the cheapest at the time,however,as this was a very special occassion for us, we chose them as they have a good 'name'. Bournemouth to Arrecife and return My wife and I have booked our last 2 holidays through Thomson and like other reviewers,we always feel that the flight is part of the holiday experience. We have flown with Thompson on numerous occasions. I decided to buy my wife a nice watch which soon stoppped working. After a call from Thompson telling me that they would send me a refund by cheque I retuned the watch to them. This was at least 5 weeks ago and I haven't heard a thing from them. Very dissapointed with this level of service. All it's done is cost me the price of the watch and the postage sending it back to them !!! My wife and I have just returned from a marvellous 2 week holiday in Majorca 5th to 19th June 2010... Our return flight was delayed 2 hours due to a technical problem with the "Air-Conditioning" comfirmed by the pilot.... My wife had to be seen by an emergency doctor on advice from a BOOTS pharmacist due to her picking up a serious mouth and lip infection ..She is now on a course of penicillin every 4 hours and I believe the source of my wifes discomfort bears strongly on the many reviews... Booked 3 return tickets to Ibiza. Flights paid in full in Febreuary 2012. Husband was being tested for Diabetes at the time which later resulted in a diagnosis of cancer in May 2012. On purchase of holoiday insurance we were unable to insure against an undiagnosed illness An operation on my husband on the 15th May was successful and clearance by the Surgeon allowed our holiday to go ahead. LGW-Cancun. The outbound flight was on an old First choice plane, although good seat pitch, seats were uncomfortable. Entertainment OK but disappointed with choice. Flew with Thomson to Kos, we have always booked with them and have flew all over. Egypt, Kenya, Greece, etc and have always been satisfied with the flights and care you receive. Flew Sharm El-Sheikh to Manchester on Thomson B757. To say the leg room was tight is an understatement. I had to sit with my legs in the aisle as it was practically impossible to fit in the space when sat normally and then the air hostesses kept walking up the aisle bashing against me. There appeared to be a leak from the ceiling on take-off and landing. Packed like sardines is a fairly accurate summary of the situation. (read more)

We flew from Manchester to Sharm in March. We were allocated seets apart from each other by Thomson's, when I rang the premium rate number to book seats together, I was told that there were no extra leg rooms seats and I could not book a middle and aisle seat only a window and middle seat. Given the appalling 28ins reach seats that Thomson's think are acceptable for a 5hour 40 min flight, an aisle seat is the only chance to move your legs slightly. I cannot believe that anybody could get seats as close to the one in front as on this airline. If you had to put your head forward for the brace position it would be impossible. It would appear that Thomson have pared their flights to the bone. No entertainment, not even radio was ridiculous. When I asked the attendant whether anything was going to appear on the tv screens, her reply was "No, because most people brought something with them." Over the last 3yrs have been pleased with seat pitch on Thompson flight, seats were comfortable and there was at least enough room to move your legs/ put tray down for food/ drinks! Not my first Thomson flight but hopefully my last, we were kept waiting on the tarmac for an hour for late passengers to board meaning an extra hour in an extremely uncomfortable cramped seat, after finally taking off I asked for a snack box but was told due to a busy flight out they had run out of these (back to back flights) not catered for. The worst flight of my life and I've had a few, believe me. Just no room inbetween the hard and uncomfortable seats. No hot drinks as they had "run out of water" although we could purchase bottles of cold water for £2.00 each and supplied bottled water for washing hands in the toilets. No food provided because it was a short haul flight. It weighed in at 6.5 hours so how long is Long Haul? Worst flight/service ever!!!!. We had a long flight/12,5 hrs from Phuket/Thailand to Copenhagen/Denmark in front of us, departing from Phuket 9 AM. Many (all?) of the passengers have been up at 5 AM due to transport from hotels to Phuket airport with 2 hour check-in before departure, therefore we were all hungry for some kind of breakfast. Having read some previous reviews I can only agree that the extremely small seat pitch on the flight would mean that in the case of an emergency not many people would be able to exit the plane within the regulation 90 seconds and possibly worse it would be totally impossible to adopt the brace position. The 6 hour flight is classed by Thomson as short haul (GOOGLE short/medium haul for the true definition) and so no food or entertainment is included although one could purchase snacks at... Athens to Gatwick. 22/11/11. P+O Cruises transfer - 3.5 hours +. I was prepared to pay extra for additional space but was refused as I was told by the handling agents(Swissport), that all seats pre-allocated on this flight. I had to pinch myself when I spotted the plane for the first time at the gate to make sure I wasn't dreaming.The plane looked old, and as it turned out it was. Returning from our holiday our aircraft 'suddenly' developed an engine fault in the left hand engine on start up. We were returned to the terminal for an hour 'so say'. Four hours later I went to the Airport information desk as we were becoming concerned for some of the older passengers and diabetics as there was no update or reps in sight. I am former cabin crew, so have a good idea of what is acceptable on flights. I have never been on a flight with such atrocious, cramped, back and neck pain inducing seats. Unable to even put a book in the seat pocket, and I am 5'6 and of normal weight. In an emergency, passengers would literally have to prise themselves out of these seats - they are so narrow the trolley continually bangs into you, and there is so little legroom, you simply cannot move. To book a holiday for my daughters wedding anniversary i visited the Jarrow branch of Thompsons Tyne & wear..
