Awesome power in a straight line and long sweeping corners, the comfort is outstanding and top quality interior materials as you would expect from a 120,000 car.
Tire wear is quick with this kind of horspower and serpentine belt was displaced when a pulley disintegrated on spririted driving. Feels heavy on its feet in quick manouvers.
Still a great ride if you can deal with the minor flaws in parts manufacture and the cost of maintenance and procurement.

A true luxury sports car. The 2004 SL600 has a slick retractable hardtop - in 16 seconds you have a convertible! The conservatively rated power is tremendous (493 hp) and pulls the car from 0-60 in under 4 seconds and to 100 in 8.6 sec - truly supercar figures. Needless to say, you never again have to worry about passing slow traffic!!
Overall, I highly recommend this vehicle to those who a) can afford it, and b) desire the finest GT ride available!

If you want a gorgeous head-turner, that is a bit more 'special' than the standard SL280, 300, 320, or 500 of this generation, the Mercedes Benz SL 600 is a must, and is the Daddy of the fleet!

The acceleration of this 2 tone Tessie, is 5.8 seconds, which gives a heck of a punch on kick-down. The sound of the engine is comparable to the growling tones of the TVR...GRRRRR..."Get outta my way"!
