This car is simply outstanding and on every level. I bought mine, an 07, second hand with 16,500 miles on the clock, 3 years extended ford warranty and 6 months tax from a ford dealer direct for 12,900! The volvo engine sounds sensational from the whizz of the turbo to the bellow from the pipes, the acceleration surges at any rev, its comfortable and will put an ear to ear smile on your face every time you get in it. This is not to mention you can fit a family in it too. For those that moan about the MPG... seriously... buy the diesal focus for crying out loud, its not rocket science. Its a great car and, especially at night, a lovely place to be. The st-2 is the one to get and i believe its a steal, even at 13-14k

Review based on a Ford Focus ST 2.5 car with a Re-map and aftermarket exhaust:A fantastic allround car. It does almost everything you need of a hatchback and a bit more. Very easy to drive quick and the electronics keep this heavy, powerful car in a straighline whatever the conditions and doesn't kill the fun or momentum... except on corner exits where the lack of an LSD is noticed in a big way as the ASR brings play to a literal stop. You dont need 4wd to deploy this much power, just a less com ...

Don't know what that guy dowm there is on about the cupra is nothing compared to the ST, have had both and the ST is faster than the cupra for sure, NO cupra that I have come across has been able to beat the Focus ST, I like the cupra don't get me wrong but it's not as good as the Focus. The Focus is fast, reliable, fun and an allround good car:- It's not for everyone but what car is?!

Bought my 3-door ST at 10 months old and thought I'd got a bargain but now I see why it's cheap. Very poor build quality and the Recaro seats just don;t go low enough - feel like you're sat in a van!

I picked up my shiny 06 plate, 3dr, Colarado Red Ford Focus ST-2 last week having traded in my 54 plate BMW Z4.
The first thing that struck me about the ST is how attractive the vehicle is. From every angle the vehicle is astonishingly good looking.
The ST looks aggressive but not too overt; it strikes a balance from being discreet to raw and sporty.
The 18" wheels are stunning as well as the body coloured spoiler and body kit and xenon headlamps.
Once inside the cabin of the vehicle, I was ve ...

Baught my 06 Ford Focus ST-2 a week ago.
I had the dreamscience chip and use the race+ setting which claims 270bhp and 330 torque.
Must say i'm loving every minute, although my fuel cost is massive. i've done 600 miles and used about 2.5 full tanks of fuel. Mind you i have been driving like a (cough) P***k.
Power uphill and overtaking on the motorway has exceeded my expectations.

I've had my all black Ford Focus ST3 for 3 weeks now and overall I'm very happy with it. I gets plenty of looks as I drive home from work through traffic and even been waved at by women in other cars on two occasions now. It looks fantastic and drives even better. The growl it produces whilst accelerating in 3rd and 4th is totally addictive.
I researched heavily before buying this car trying out many other makes and models. For the money I couldn't find a better alternative, however, if you deci ...

If you have the money buy it and you will see where I m coming from.

Im am very disappointed with the Ford Focus ST, I expected a fun fast Ford, its certainly not slow, but doesnt live up to the Seat Leon cupra i had before, im getting another one to replace the Focus, havent even had the Focus a year and its time to get rid.
Dont be drawn in by that engine, the Leon Cupra is faster, better built, has more gadgets, and handling is just another league will wipe the floor with the focus and its cheaper to buy and run! I should have kept mine, but that 5 cylinder en ...

I have a Ford Focus ST-2 Colorado red its comfy and has it all inside, the engine roars and the exhaust pops and the turbo whistles its a great fun car, i have just px my Audi TT the tt grips the road better but the ST is far quicker and faster from start to finish. I have had rs turbo, xr3i Audi TT and BMW 730i the ST beats them all hands down, got 137 mph and their was still more to come.
The best hot hatch on the market by far the insurance company said it all "have you modified the car" befo ...

Having read through the other reviews of the Ford Focus ST I thought I should add my own comments.

First up - my ST 2 is a black, 3 door version running on a Stage One Bluefin which I am reliably informed outputs some 256bhp, it's now covered approx 16,800 miles and I have just decided to trade it in for a 2007 ST 2 in performance blue (5 door).

I have owned a couple of performance cars prior to the ST but nothing which was in this league performance wise. First up the car handles very wel ...

I picked my Ford Focus ST3 up 3 days ago and without doubt is the best all round car I have ever driven, it may not have the performance of a scooby which lacks comfort or the quality build of an Audi which costs a lot more, but in my opinion the ST has no weak points, its quick, comfortable, practical and the level of standard equipment makes it good value over its nearest rival the Golf GTi. Before purchasing I checked out every hot hatch on the market and the Focus was not high on my list and ...

I owned my Ford Focus ST 2.5 (2006) for 10 months before trading it in for a BMW 330d sport. Focus had serious drink problem, I averaged 17mpg driving round town with 24mpg on motorways. This was probably made worse because the engine sounds so good you find yourself accelerating at every opportunity, especially in 2nd and 3rd gears up to about 30 just to hear the exhaust pop and snarl. Get it on a fast A or B road and I defy anything to keep up with a well driven ST.
Even when it was being dr ...

Was given a very quick demonstration of the Ford Focus ST capabilities by the salesman when we had a test drive. Its the nearest I've been to rally driving. Still not been able to match this performance but in the 3 months I have the car but I am learning. Would I recommend this vehicle, a big YES.

We waited for the release of this Ford Focus ST 2.5 car expecting to buy it to replace our ST 170, after a list of four rs/st Fords. Despite wanting an ST 3 with satnav and just about every option, the local Ford dealer really wasn't very interested and the car was a major disappointment. Briefly, the 5-cyliner is powerful but rough and it looks, frankly, dumpy with cheap detailing and Essex boy wheels.

We're waiting for the release of the new Audi S3 and Seat Leone Cupra before deciding be ...
