Modern cars don't have handbrakes... (oh no !!) they also don't have ... whatever.. I love my Ford focus for its hadbrake turns in a snowy carpark, twitchy acceleration out of the hairpins down the hill(I live in Switzerlane)... basically I know I am driving it... and I can afford a rather posher car. By the way, make sure you don't wear the tyres out, it can be scary when they don't grip on a downhill hairpin with a drop off.... … Read Full Review

I've only had my Focus ST-2 (ORANGE) for two weeks now but I'm f*****g loving it, the sound it makes when you plant your foot down is music to my ears & when its time to turn the motor off its sounds like a jet engine winding down it makes me smile ear to ear. know matter where you go people come up to LQQK talk or just say I want one of then too. A must have for any petrol head… Read Full Review

Can i start by saying this car is the best all round hot hatch out there at the moment, yes the vxr is minutely quicker but get it on an even slightly damp road or a corner and the vxr is buggered.
Also as i have done if you cant bear prats in vxrs trying to race you, fords official tuners MOUNTUNE will give you a package for around 1500 quid which is basically a remap and some upgraded engine bits. They told me it tunes the car to around 270 bhp and would have the same 0- 120mph time as the… Read Full Review

I am tired of hearing reviews (not here) that this car is "too thirsty", that the MPG is terrible and that the road tax is expensive. ITS A 2.5 ltr, TURBO CHARGED % POT ENGINE!! Its hardly suprising no. Ford make a diesels buy one of them.
Te Focus ST is just incredible. Its (very) fast, its reliable & never misses a beat, its comfortable, its predictable, its safe, its easy to drive and as practical as... well a Focus.
The engine is massively impressive, the power is totally accessable… Read Full Review

This car is simply outstanding and on every level. I bought mine, an 07, second hand with 16,500 miles on the clock, 3 years extended ford warranty and 6 months tax from a ford dealer direct for 12,900! The volvo engine sounds sensational from the whizz of the turbo to the bellow from the pipes, the acceleration surges at any rev, its comfortable and will put an ear to ear smile on your face every time you get in it. This is not to mention you can fit a family in it too. For those that moan… Read Full Review

Review based on a Ford Focus ST 2.5 car with a Re-map and aftermarket exhaust:
A fantastic allround car. It does almost everything you need of a hatchback and a bit more.
Very easy to drive quick and the electronics keep this heavy, powerful car in a straighline whatever the conditions and doesn't kill the fun or momentum... except on corner exits where the lack of an LSD is noticed in a big way as the ASR brings play to a literal stop. You dont need 4wd to deploy this much power, just a less… Read Full Review

Don't know what that guy dowm there is on about the cupra is nothing compared to the ST, have had both and the ST is faster than the cupra for sure, NO cupra that I have come across has been able to beat the Focus ST, I like the cupra don't get me wrong but it's not as good as the Focus.
The Focus is fast, reliable, fun and an allround good car:- It's not for everyone but what car is?!… Read Full Review

I picked up my shiny 06 plate, 3dr, Colarado Red Ford Focus ST-2 last week having traded in my 54 plate BMW Z4. The first thing that struck me about the ST is how attractive the vehicle is. From every angle the vehicle is astonishingly good looking. The ST looks aggressive but not too overt; it strikes a balance from being discreet to raw and sporty. The 18" wheels are stunning as well as the body coloured spoiler and body kit and xenon headlamps. Once inside the cabin of the vehicle, I was… Read Full Review

Baught my 06 Ford Focus ST-2 a week ago.
I had the dreamscience chip and use the race+ setting which claims 270bhp and 330 torque.
Must say i'm loving every minute, although my fuel cost is massive. i've done 600 miles and used about 2.5 full tanks of fuel. Mind you i have been driving like a (cough) P***k.
Power uphill and overtaking on the motorway has exceeded my expectations… Read Full Review

I've had my all black Ford Focus ST3 for 3 weeks now and overall I'm very happy with it. I gets plenty of looks as I drive home from work through traffic and even been waved at by women in other cars on two occasions now. It looks fantastic and drives even better. The growl it produces whilst accelerating in 3rd and 4th is totally addictive. I researched heavily before buying this car trying out many other makes and models. Im am very disappointed with the Ford Focus ST, I expected a fun fast Ford, its certainly not slow, but doesnt live up to the Seat Leon cupra i had before, im getting another one to replace the Focus, havent even had the Focus a year and its time to get rid.
Dont be drawn in by that engine, the Leon Cupra is faster, better built, has more gadgets, and handling is just another league will wipe the floor with the focus and its cheaper to buy and run! I should have kept mine, but that 5 cylinder… Read Full Review

I have a Ford Focus ST-2 Colorado red its comfy and has it all inside, the engine roars and the exhaust pops and the turbo whistles its a great fun car, i have just px my Audi TT the tt grips the road better but the ST is far quicker and faster from start to finish. I have had rs turbo, xr3i Audi TT and BMW 730i the ST beats them all hands down, got 137 mph and their was still more to come. Having read through the other reviews of the Ford Focus ST I thought I should add my own comments.
First up - my ST 2 is a black, 3 door version running on a Stage One Bluefin which I am reliably informed outputs some 256bhp, it's now covered approx 16,800 miles and I have just decided to trade it in for a 2007 ST 2 in performance blue (5 door).
I have owned a couple of performance cars prior to the ST but nothing which was in this league performance wise. First up the car handles very well… Read Full Review

I picked my Ford Focus ST3 up 3 days ago and without doubt is the best all round car I have ever driven, it may not have the performance of a scooby which lacks comfort or the quality build of an Audi which costs a lot more, but in my opinion the ST has no weak points, its quick, comfortable, practical and the level of standard equipment makes it good value over its nearest rival the Golf GTi. Before purchasing I checked out every hot hatch on the market and the Focus was not high on my list… Read Full Review

I owned my Ford Focus ST 2.5 (2006) for 10 months before trading it in for a BMW 330d sport. Focus had serious drink problem, I averaged 17mpg driving round town with 24mpg on motorways. This was probably made worse because the engine sounds so good you find yourself accelerating at every opportunity, especially in 2nd and 3rd gears up to about 30 just to hear the exhaust pop and snarl. Get it on a fast A or B road and I defy anything to keep up with a well driven ST.

We waited for the release of this Ford Focus ST 2.5 car expecting to buy it to replace our ST 170, after a list of four rs/st Fords. Despite wanting an ST 3 with satnav and just about every option, the local Ford dealer really wasn't very interested and the car was a major disappointment. Briefly, the 5-cyliner is powerful but rough and it looks, frankly, dumpy with cheap detailing and Essex boy wheels.
We're waiting for the release of the new Audi S3 and Seat Leone Cupra before deciding… Read Full Review

My opinion on Ford Focus ST 2.5 I bought in June 2006.
The Focus st3 3 door in performance blue comes with (esp) electronic stability program including traction control neon lights leather recaros and 6 CD changer
extra options electric sun roof and visibility pack (automatic lights and wipers). They all come with AC and electric windows/mirrors. The handling is superb the acceleration is extremely quick and the brakes are powerful but well balanced.

Stunning car (Colorado Red looks great), but my Ford Focus ST 2.5 has an annoying engine vibration at tickover, as if it's running on 4 pots instead of 5! It's perfect under acceleration! I've drove various 'Hot Hatches' over the last few years, Focus ST170 & Seat Leon Cupra to name two. Neither can match the ST-2 for either its driveability or ability to shock. I've now completed some 7000+ miles and have to say the fuel consumption (if driven normally) is no worse than a standard 2 litre, im now achieving average of 32.0 mpg which is far better than the 19.0 combined when I first picked the car up. The handling of the car cannot be faulted, nor the performance, however the… Read Full Review

Ford Focus ST2 review. It looks exactly what fast Ford hatchbacks should look like because that's exactly what it is. It's practical, fast and dynamic. The drivers position is very accomodating and comfy. All controls are perfectly laid out. Maybe the Sony stereo system is a 1% let down in LED terms. Looks a little 80's and a tad blurry but really nothing to moan about as the system functions are on the money and sounds good on the ears both at hi and lo levels. MP3 compatability (st2-3) a… Read Full Review
