A great value for money. The mobile can be use for heavy usage. Anyone who needs a mobile for rough usage, he/she can obviously go for Motorola V3X. People now-a-days, are crazy for smartphone but everyone does also have a secondary phone. That is where Motorola V3X comes and steal the show from every other contemporary. From my point of view, Motorola is Goolge's product and Google is successful in every department. So, you can of course go for this product & I am sure you will post a review like this. Sincerely, Evan

Well features, you have the Video TV, Camera, games, video Camera, Bluetooth, Infrared, Voice command, and some others which I probably haven't even noticed yet.
I've had this phone for two years, and it has been a very good phone. The design wasn't brilliant, I was expecting the slimline V3 just with more features. But its is fairly bulky. A few months ago the phone started to crash, predictive texting was slow and it generally became annoying, but accidentally I fixed it. Basically whilst trying to download my pictures onto the computer I notice an upgrade option (free with Motorola website) I assumed it would be to upgrade the software on the pc, however it upgraded the hardware on my phone, wiping everything off it!
As fuming as I was at the time, I am thankful I did that now, as the phone is like brand new, the camera quality has improved 100% and I can now take stunning photos using my phone, the speed of texting and saving videos has also improved and overall I am impressed with it again. I would & wouldn't recommend this phone, if its reliability your after then for 2 years going strong I would recommend this phone. If its style your after then this phone is pretty ugly, bar the blue strip light across that bottom if it, that is an excellent feature!!!

This phone is the best phone I've had... I didn't want to change from the Nokia 7600, because I liked it's quirkiness, but I am so glad i did. It has the best music system on it, with two different programmes that you can use. I also have MSN hotmail set up on mine so that i can talk to friends when I am away from my the internet, it has a good memory even without an extra memory card. I would recommend this phone to anyone, it;s fantastic!!!

I hate 3 in general because every time I have a problem I have to speak to there customer service team who cant understand me and I cant understand them.
I have a year left on my contract then I am going back to Pay As You Go.

The Motorola V3X was a great phone until all of a sudden the camera didn't work and it started to lag

The Motorola V3x is such an abysmal example of a mobile phone that it very nearly destroyed my interest in mobile phones. Over the past 10 years I have been through quite a few phones and this is by far the worst. Its sole redeeming feature is its aesthetic appeal which is undeniable. In this Motorola has been true to the whole ethos of the V series and even going back to the StarTac line (another abysmal phone) in that it's a well marketed aesthetic handset that is about as useful as a telecommunications device as an ashtray on a motorcycle. Motorola user interfaces have always been about as awkward as Italian bureaucracy and in this the V3x is no different. I had expected this and was prepared to overlook it. What I am not prepared to do is overlook its total lack of features and persistent unreliability. The first handsets camera didn't work and had to be swapped even before I managed to leave the shop.
The camera is not entirely auto focusing and requires you to adjust it manually by the way of a physical switch depending on how far the object you are photographing is and failure to do this results in totally out of focus shots. Not to be used to photograph the loch ness monster or anything else requiring an in focus shot. Sometimes they just vanish of the phone. (Happened to a shot I really wanted to keep)
The Bluetooth is not very functional as you can't send photos using it and does not offer the full range to Bluetooth services.
The alarm clock works sometimes, the phone also has a tendency to drop calls when you open to answer. Every now and then opening the phone will result in the phone software hanging with a blank screen. The caller id function takes a vacation when logging missed calls etc showing them as unknown. The off button repeatedly shows up the number 3 on the screen unless you are willing to target it will determined precision in which case the phone is prepared to shut down. I knew I had to bin the phone when I began to feel relief every time I was able to successfully answer a call. Sound quality is also poor.
I suppose this could be a freak experience that I only have qualified for but a friend decided to purchase this phone despite my warnings and he now curses it to high heaven. He has switched back to his Sony Erickson and me to a Nokia 6280 which despite is bland design is an excellent phone. I recommend this phone will all thumbs up to people who don't need to use it for anything else other than a fashion accessory. It does have one excellent feature. Its software allows the phone to act as a modem and allow surfing the web with only a mouse click when connected to a laptop and the Motorola software installed. This is quite a feat because with my previous 3g handset I had to manually enter the settings and it took determined effort to get it working. With a V3x an idiot could do it, which is perhaps what they call 'elegant design' because anyone that holds onto this phone longer than they have to is indeed and idiot.

I would not recommend this Motorola V3X phone to anyone!! Its big, bulky and feels horrible. The service I've received from Orange and Motorola has been appalling, they are just not interested!! I would never own a Motorola again.
I am on my 4th handset and 5th battery. The battery life surely should last more than 36 hours!! Text and MMS msg's don't get sent, it freezes all the time, won't display missed calls or received calls, never has a signal (even though everyone else has)! These are just the things I can remember!!

This is by far and away the worst phone I have ever had the misfortune to own. I got the Motorola V3X free when I switched to the Three network earlier this summer because they didn't have any Nokia's. As with some of the other reviewers here, the battery life is non-existent. With minimal use, the phone still needs charging every night. Asked Three about this and they gave me a new battery - same problem though.
The other major gripe I have is that even in an area with full reception, the phone continually misses calls and just alerts me to the fact that I have a missed call. The contacts book is fiddly and user unfriendly, and when the phone is charging, the handset flashes blue so you have to cover it up. Do yourself a favour and avoid this phone.

I was a bit disappointed when I received my Motorola V3X phone. It is bulky and very heavy compared to the V3. However, it came with 3 months free mobile TV, and was only £12.50 for first 3 months. It's quite hardy as I've dropped it a few times, yet it still lives! The outer camera is very good quality and you can switch it to fast moving or close up. Texting is easy and the key pad is big and clear. Battery is about average if you switch Bluetooth off.

The Motorola V3X is big enough so you can't loose it, screens clear and camera good, but the battery life is nil. We have 5 on business contract and they have all got the same faults, no signal, cannot be heard talking, make funny screeching sounds, do not charge properly, and will not connect manually to bluetooth ie when getting in and out of the car. Trying to get these Motorola V3X's changed to something better, ie the v3 or anything else at the moment. Vodafone recons they have no idea of any faults with these phones, funny Ive got 5 all doing the same!

This Motorola V3X is a great phone - I got half price line rental with O2 (from carphone warehouse) so it's only £17.50 a month for 12months (12mth contract), 400mins & 100 txts. Great screen, has mp3 music player, big buttons, video calling and a clear menu layout. With o2 it's in a cool dark blue colour, t-mobile is (tacky?) pink and otherwise it's black. Not so great battery but fast charging so just charge it overnight!
The 1st two phones I was given didn't work! But carphone warehouse were happy to re-order them for me and tested each one in the shop.
All in all, a stylish phone, not as thin as the other RAZRs but not very tall either - 2 screens, mirror option for outer and inner screen, b&w/sepia option for camera pics. I recommend it to teens, adults, everyone! One of the best phones on the market - certainly many expensive ones do not have the features this mobile has!
The bluetooth is also great - very easy to use & free sending of messages, songs & pictures / videos! (compared to 35+pence charged by mms)

I got this Motorola V3X as a free upgrade. I'm just glad I did not pay out money for it. Whenever a new contact is stored from a received call it locks the contacts and the voice dialing, with the only option being to find the offending entry and delete it from your contacts. If this was the only time it locks it would be merely an annoyance, but use the PC software to enter or amend your contacts and you appear to have a 50-50 chance of locking the contacts and all functions dependent upon the contacts. I have read that the locking may be because certain networks mess with the basic setup before sending them out and this may be true because I can't believe Motorola would release such a flaky piece of software. Oh, and reception is poor. I can go from strong signal strength to nothing without even moving. Using Bluetooth seems, for I know not why, to make reception even flakier. Also to my mind, a phone that is showing full signal strength but then texts you to say you missed a call when the thing never even rang, is not much of a phone. It is a shame because there are some nice features on the unit, but it just doesn't pass the "Cuprinol" test. It doesn't do what it says on the tin!

If you want to show off to your mates, then the Motorola V3X is the mobile phone for you. If like me you want it to work well as its primary function of a phone, then get the SLVR instead, as it's lighter and the battery lasts longer.

In general, the Motorola V3X mobile phone is not what I was expecting. I was looking for an upgrade to my V3, instead I got a power consuming brick.

Hi I am thinking of getting one of these on my next upgrade. Please can you tell me how often you have to charge the phone up, I usually charge mine up every night anyway, and when you set the alarm how easy is it to turn it off? Many Thanks Pauline
Written on: 20/08/2006
GO TO SETTINGS - SECURITY - LOCK PHONE and the side buttons are locked so you can't accidentally press them! my phone lasts many hours charged, and only takes 1-2HRS TO FULLY RECHARGE, much better than many other phones which need an overnight charge. you can charge it whilst the phone is on so this is not really a problem!
<br/>
<br/>also, the features on the v3x are much much better than the v3 - video capture, 2mp camera (compared to vga which = about 0.3mp), mp3, etc.

Hi there, According to Motorola's website the phone is meant to last 250 hrs on standby, mine does not last 40hrs. I have never tested the alarm, as the battery low alarm comes on so often that it is effectively useless for more than one nights operation. Rgds John.

The Motorola V3X is a good mobile phone. The camera is perfect, and the video is good. would recommend it, but get yourself another battery!
Written on: 05/07/2006
Sorry, but please can you tell me how often you charge the battery? Thanks
Written on: 07/09/2006
Spot on. I like it. It's not as good as other phones in some features, but better than others. The battery is the biggest problem.
Written on: 20/08/2006
i charge the battery every 2/3days but my phone is NEVER turned off! the complete charge takes 1 or 1,5hrs if the phone is turned on, i guess much less if the phone is off. hope i helped!

The Motorola V3X mobile phone 3g works perfectly, and the Bluetooth as well, but when I use it in my car (Prius Toyota) with the latest built-in Bluetooth, even if the V3X is on the automatic setting, I have to reset it every time when I get into the car. Or if the car or the sel is switched off. The V3, Nokia, Ericsson, was tested and reconnected every time without resetting. Motorola SA said this is normal. Please Help!!
