Good Points: BIG, imposing pistol, yes its a Magnum! Great power, unusual model
Bad Points: Considered weird looks by some Silver finish not great, seam lines evident.
General comments: The Automag 3 by TM is a slim but large, long pistol. The real gun fires a cut down rifle cartridge! and has a reputation for awesome power (the markings on the side of the gun call it a .30 carbine!)
The finish is reasonable but not outstanding at the price, the silver finish is OK, but seam lines are evident all around the model and the fixed sights and grips are only average.
A safety switch is unusually located just in front of the trigger and looks more like an electrical switch...bizarre! (presumably the real gun also has this shaped safety)
At 27cm long, this is a large pistol and the cocking action, although smooth is quite stiff.
On cocking the shell ejection port opens up allowing you to see (or clean/ lubricate) the end of the pistol/ start of the BB loading port. This is a nice feature found on many high grade Marui models these days.
The gun comes supplied with heavyweight 0.25 gram BBs (presumably in keeping with the 'magnum' theme) and this pistol does have BIG power. OK, its still only around 0.4 Joules, but it feels powerful, makes a loud crack on firing and is hard hitting on targets.
The large magazine hold about 20 rounds but is spoiled by the 'swirly' silver moulding, and low weight, making it feel like a cheap plastic part.
Overall this is an unusual gun to own, has great power and good accuracy but is ultimately a missed opportunity for Marui as it is let down by a general poor silver finish and poor looking magazine.
