Having driven my 1997 Turbo R for five years I can not only recommend this palace on wheels for looks but for reliability and power. I love taking it for a drive and just enjoy the commanding view of the road and the smoothness and quiet of the car. You can "press on" if you have to with all the power available the car will waft you to high speed in a burble of V8 and smoothness. Buying a cheap Bentley Turbo R is the most expensive thing to do. That FBSH is a must as they really do check and maintain the cars, not just change the oil- as long as the owner paid for it and not just asked for the 'inspection service' every year. Insist on seeing the invoices and check the Bentley service print-out. I went for a 1996 on car as they have the spare inside the boot, a bit more power and the adjustable steering column to give more knee room. I would ignore the pre... (read more)

I test drove one of the Bentley 'Turbo R' 6,750 it was great and I wish I would have bought it. This would be a good car to cruise the down town streets with. It is very roomy with exquisite wood grain job on the inside. When you look at though it gives you this feeling or longing to own thats what great about this car. (read more)

Essential to purchase with full Bentley, or specialist, service history and specifically check that the very expensive major hydraulics / brakes service has been carried out at least every 8 years, and that FULL services were effected every 24k. Particularly check for sound: Turbo, steering pump, differential, brake disks, central locking, main odometer and cruise control, rot around cills etc. Brake / hydraulics mineral fluid must be changed every 2 years otherwise damage occurs.
