Last night I bought a box of Nestle Dairy Box. A special treat, something different from the usual box of roses, celebrations etc. They were also considerably more expensive but they certainly looked good quality and worth the extra money. However to my astonishment each chocolate tasted virtually exactly the same. The only difference really was in the shape of the chocolates. The centers are made of the same gooey stuff which is simply colored differently for each chocolate type. The description ...- Read ffam's review (204 words)

Presentation in the box is about the only good thing!!
Chocolates are all pretty much the same , contain truffle type mixtures. Used to be really good chocolates with proper variety of flavours.
About time they brought back the original chocs from about 10 to 20 years ago. What happened to those great caramels coffee and orange creams etc that we used to expect in the Nestle Dairy Box? In my opinion, now it's just a load of rubbish in a nice box!!- Read Guest's review (80 words)

I loved the Old Nestle Dairy Box - please bring it back. The new one is pretencious, tastless and all the same of the same. Good point is the individual chocolates look more modern but one layer of taste all the same chocolates - no individuality.- Read janie69's review (46 words)

My brother in law insists on buying me this box of chocolates every Xmas and birthday because about 10 years ago I said they were my favourites. Since they've been changed they are simply awful. They all taste the same, all the centres are the same flavourless "mush" and the chocolate is tasteless. I did complain after last Xmas but just got the standard letter saying they needed to update their flavours and the public now wanted a more continental style of chocolate. But people who want con ...- Read bentleycat's review (128 words)

Dairy Box have always been my favourite chocolates but what on earth was Nestle thinking of when replacing a perfectly good product with a load of rubbish. I WILL NEVER BUY THEM AGAIN.
Bring back the originals. Each chocolate had a "waxy" taste, uugh, horrid- Read Guest's review (45 words)

Where do I start ?. Like many reviewers below I was looking forward to trying my Dairy Box as I hadn't eaten them for years and I had fond memories of them from the 1970's as a classic box of chocolates.
Was I disappointed ? YES
The selection has changed and there was not one I enjoyed. I ate 3 and through the rest in the bin. They also had an awful after taste of hydrogenated fat in them - which you don't get from the more high quality chocolates like Thornton's.
Will never be buying them ag ...- Read Guest's review (147 words)

Since 2007 the manufacturers seemingly decided to take a superb selection of chocolates and replace it with a bland mixture of soggy, sickly goo. There are many poor reviews on the new selection and many people have complained to Nestle, but they do not seem interested in the consumers or their opinions. A year later and they are still producing the same insipid selection. My feeling is that Dairy Box is probably purchased by unknowing people, as small gifts. My neighbour has just bought a box f ...- Read allabarra's review (171 words)

I too was totally disappointed when I received my Dairy Box for Mother's Day from my daughter. I have been eating these chocolates for years and they have always been a family favourite. They are so bland and terrible, I will NEVER buy these again. I wrote to Nestle to comment on how disgusted I was and begged them to bring back the originals. They did reply to advise that the chocolates had not changed in a long time and had to be updated, hu! Why meddle with something that is so good. So ...- Read Guest's review (104 words)

Nestle Dairy Box used to be my favourites along with milk tray. I will not be eating them again, no good old fashioned centres, raspberry, coffee, toffee, nuts, orange cream, the new ones are BORING. Having bought a box a week for 10 years I'll at least save myself some money.- Read speedyswimmer's review (70 words)

I used to love these chocs but now they have been replaced by continental style truffle centres, yuk, why trade this muck under same name, its misleading customers, just a waste of money now.- Read Guest's review (41 words)

Nestle Dairy Box Chocolates are soft and creamy. There's truffle in two of the chocolates, and it's not nice if you don't like stronger kinds of chocolate. It's an overall great box of chocolates to be given if someone is saying sorry!- Read shereechocolate's review (42 words)

The new (purchased December 2007) issue of these chocolates removes all individuality from the box pack and replaces it with a bland mix of chocolates which all taste the same beneath their interesting exterior. Daily Box was the favourite selection of both myself and my wife before now. As the current issue stands, the box is a great disappointment and is very definitely suited to those who like nutty chocolates and pralines (see Ferrero Rocher). There is essentially no variety in the selection ...- Read bluey101's review (215 words)
