Good Points: After the first 3 months the gym fee goes down to £5/month... until they decide to increase it again.
Bad Points: The incessant "we are changing details in your plan" and increases in fees.
General comments: Having realised that some people use the gym dishonestly, a cap on the number of times you can go was introduced. This essentially limits you to reach the maximum allowable number of points and go beyond your status (bronze, silver...) to obtain cheaper prices.
Secondly, the fact that Vitality points, and not gym visits as is well advertised, will recently mostly contribute to decreasing your gym membership fee is absolutely unfair.
It should not because you read a couple of their website articles or buy fruit and veg from one of their partners that you should get a lower gym membership. It is astounding that my gym membership should increase 1000% (granted with a few months notice, enough time in order for me to cancel it!). This is totally unfair seeing as, as a member, I have signed up for 12 months and it is Pruhealth that seem to have totally changed the game.

I attempted to make a claim today and was told that it could take up to 2 weeks to authorize! You have to take a letter that they send to you to your doctor who then has to complete it confirming that its not pre-existing etc. The doctors send it back and then Pruhealth underwriters have to look at the claim to approve it before they will authorize treatment. Apparently this is the case for any new conditions claim. I always thought the point of private health insurance was quick treatment. It d ...

I joined because of the discount on joining a gym, and wish I hadn't. I've spent over 10 hours on the phone with them trying to sort out a direct debit. Every month for the last 3 months they've made a mistake with the direct debit, twice after I've conference called in a representative of my bank. They've even charged me double on my credit card which I offered up thinking it would just make things easier. I've been a member for three years, have never made a claim, and the fees have jumpe ...

PruHealth may be very good if in fact you're healthy - but they are a bit difficult when it comes to paying for treatment that you actually need.I seriously recommend you consider another health insurance provider.

I never considered taking out health insurance until my business partner got sick. He was off work for nearly 3 months, and as decorators that nearly ruined the company. We got Pru Health as we can keep the payments low, and can get treatment really quickly if we need it.
My partner waited ages for physiotherapy to sort out his back at LGI, but with Pru Health he saw someone at Nuffield very quickly.

Pru Health have massivlely subsidised my gym membership, I used to pay nearly £100 a month on the Holmes Place near my work, and now I pay £25 a month, bargain!!
I like the people at the call centre and I'm on track to get 100% of my premium back this year!!!

Pru Health are the only health insurance company I could find that allow me to take control of my premiums.
I always try too stay healthy, but with the incentive of saving money I've made more of an effort.
So far I'm due to save 50% next year, just by doing things like walking the dog and eating better.
I've only claimed once so far, but they were really polite and helpful.

I love the way Pru health allow you to take control of your premiums and reward you for making efforts to be healthy. Like everyone, I always try harder to be healthier, and saving money is a great incentive! Just by doing things like walking the dog and reading health articles online I will save 50% on next year's premium. By the end of the year I intend to reach the 75% discount level.

Pru Health were the only insurer I found that covers Cancer treatment on all of their plans. The plan I chose also has no restrictions on the amount I can claim for most treatments. Even though I smoke and am overweight, I still expect to save £350 pounds on next year's premium just by not claiming and reading some health articles on their web site.
They also offer deals with health companies. I've joined the Allen Carr's anti smoking classes and saved £100. They also offer gym me ...

I was insured with BUPA for 10 year's, and as I rarely claimed it felt like wasted money.
When I joined PruHealth, not only is their cover better than any I'd ever had, but I get 25% of my premium back whenever I don't need to claim.
On top of that you earn points for doing things like healthy eating plans and going to the gym etc. Even reading articles on their web site. Last year I earned 75% discount (very easily) which means I now only pay £12 a month for fully comprehensive cover.
