I disagree with the previous reviewer. I have drunk this wine several times and always found it to be good value.

I loved Stowells Cabernet Merlot trouble is I can't find anywhere that sells it, It is smooth a really easy drink. For people who are big wine drinkers this is too mellow ,however for those of us who just like a glass or two , and are looking after our health it's perfect.

It was the probably the most disappointing wine I've tasted for some years. AND that includes £2.20 per bottle reds from Netto/Aldi/Liddle which I bought one bottle to try. They haven't been very good but they were all better than Stowells Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon. I wrote 2 emails of constructive review/complaint to Stowells - but sadly they haven't even had the courtesy to reply to me. It seems this company is far from the proud, professional company it used to be.

This is a very poor example of the fine cabernet merlot and a fine example of a cheap poor man's wine. The bouquet is weak and the aftertaste very unsatisfactory, something which can be said on the whole about this wine. I did not even finish the bottle I'm afraid.

A Cabernet merlot is a great wine for those just getting into reds and you can't really go wrong with a bottle of Stowells as far as mid-price red wine goes. I find this wine very soft on the palette, a little fruity and a really easy drink. Very moreish - just a shame I'm pregnant at the moment and can't demolish a whole bottle!
