Good Points: Tough, fun, reliable
Bad Points: Front end slips about in 2wheel drv and tends to tip on bends.
General comments: This particular model, the Mitsubishi Montero 2.5 is 15 years old so I can't complain. Any faults it has are due to its age. However the point of this post is to warn any one from making the same mistake I did. When buying a car this old, although they do run for ever, it is inevitable for something to go wrong. You take it as an acceptable cost, the problem I had with mine is that it was originally imported from the Middle East, meaning that parts are extremely hard to get hold of as the normal UK or European parts differ in many ways. These are great motors, they will look after you under all kinds of environments but if the speedometer is in MPH when you are in europe or KPH when in UK and the rear indicators have red glass, take a wide berth!
