    Good Points: Cheap
    Good sound
    Delivers 5.1, 2.0 and just plain stereo, depending on what's available
    Nice range of effects on Plain Old Stereo
    Looks nice (mine's in silver)
    Four stands for surround speakers
    Fancy acoustic-break feet for sub-woofer


    Bad Points: Dreadful mains hum, even when in standby
    Massive switch-on/switch-off thumps
    No stand/mounting for centre speaker
    Heavy bass distorts badly on the sub-woofer


    General comments: I read a review of the Acoustic Solutions DS113 home cinema amplifier before buying, and I was nearly put off, but my son persuaded me not to worry too much about it.
