    My laptop compar hp nx8220 after 2 years of use the motherboard was damaged .Dont recoment it

    Bought the HP Compaq NX8220 new in early 2005. Everything worked fine. Even after hard fall on the floor worked machine worked 1 year perfectly. I used it very very intensive for business. After 3 years of use machine started hardly to overheat and motherboard failed. Display also got few vertical lines but it does not disturb to work.

    Find it a ok laptop to use, but my old compaq presario was and still is far superior and its a lot lower spec'd machine! If need 4th motherboard am ditching it and buying a Compaq presario!

    Served me well up until the charging pin broke away from the mobo, i only ever inserted / took out carefully anyway.
    HP said this was not a common problem / it is for me therefore I do not recommend HP Compaq NX8220.

    -Nice look-Good keyboard-Quality audio speakers- Poor screen- Overheats when 533Mhz memory modules inserted- Motherboard failure after 20 monthsWorks well, until motherboard fails. Well recommend - HP Compaq NX8220.

    In my opinion the HP Compaq is poor overall computer, clunky and heavy, never really got on with it. Dull screen!

    Very bad HP laptop model. Very bad support. Motherboard damaged in 16 months.

    The HP Compaq NX8220 is a powerful laptop, and it offers pretty much top of the range spec for just over £1000. It's ideal for the individual who needs high spec and is looking for a long-term buy.
