This is not a place for a romantic weekend. It's seen better days. Most (48) double rooms are twin beds pushed together (hard edging and dips in middle), thin duvets, badly made sheet direct on matress, shabby cushions, marks on carpets, average bath - not walk in shower. Marks on carpets, cold room, coffee facilities in the wardrobe, long, long wait at bar, luke warm breakfast. This was NOT a luxury, romantic experience. Holding hands was uncomfortable in those beds. Dismissive receptionists. Great food in reastaurant though.
I'd like to know that the website raises unrealistic expectations of luxury, for most rooms.

Arrived to find our room had been incorrectly booked, we requested a room in the main house as we were at a wedding, we had a 18 month old child and my wife was heavily pregnant and so didn't want to be walking too far from the room to function suite. The room we ended up in was 50 yards outside the main building and up 2 flights of stairs with no lift, this was extremely inconvenient. The bath in the room had no plug, I requested one, nothing turned so were unable to bath our daughter, we requested a cot, we were given a cheap travel cot and charged £10.
After a sleepless night (our daughter does not sleep well in travel cots) not to mention a clock giving a loud 'dong' EVERY hour we went to breakfast, there were 2 high chairs covered in food from the previous evening, the breakfast itself was self service and of the same quality if not worse than a cheap travel inn.
Also in the reception area is an open coal fire with no fire guard, parents were constantly keeping children away from the very clear & dangerous hazard. After all this we got a snotty apology and no compensation whatsoever. Will never stay gain nor recommend to anyone.

We are the recommended supplier of wedding chair covers and other venue decorations to Aston Hall Hotel.
We attend Aston Hall nearly every weekend and have found the staff to helpful and resourceful.
We have eaten at the hotel on several occasions and also been a guest at a couple of weddings at Aston Hall. The food has always been very good.
All in all Aston Hall is a popular choice and if we had our wedding again then we would most likely choose Aston Hall.
Keep up the good work

As a wedding photographer I attend Aston Hall on a regular basis. I find the staff very helpful and the feeling that I get from the bride and grooms is positive. The venue is very modern on the inside and stately on the exterior. I'd reccommend it as a wedding venue. My only concern and this is because I am a photographer is that the grounds are a little limiting but its not a major issue at all.

Aston Hall happily took our money for a Dec 05 wedding, and then advised us months later that they had doubled booked us with a Christmas party. The response was unapologetic, rude + shoddy - we were treated with contempt when the venue had spoiled the most important day of our lives. We lost money on deposits and postage spent on inviting people to our wedding at Aston Hall. We were refused compensation and had to reschedule our wedding to take place in 2006 as by that time all Christmas wedding dates were booked up in all venues. Luckily we have found a nicer venue with A* service at a lower price. This caused us so much stress. Just beware this venue.
