Good Points: Low price

Bad Points: Poor velocity
Cheap feel

General comments: It's a Springer in the shape of a double stack 1911 like a Caspian or Para-Ord. It may fool a non-gun person but any real gun guy will take one look at the Airsoft P169 and see all the seams.

I loaded it up and started plinking, the BBs were going everywhere, these thing would hook left slice right or once every 5 or 6 shots go dead straight. It did not even puch a hole in a paper plate 10 feet away. Then I held it within 3 inches of my forearm and it barley tickeled.

So being the tinkering kind of guy I am, I took it apart. To see how it worked and just to see if I could do anything to make it shoot better. After opening it up and seeing it inner workings I noticed the the piston seal was kinked and the gun was not getting full compression. I added and oiled piece of leather as a secondary seal and put it back together. I trimmed down the big front sight and cut out the fake ejection port so I could look inside while it was operating. I did get a significant increase in velocoity but accuracy got even worse. I saw the the slide had I huge gap around the barrel, so my next move is to put a bushing on the barrel for a tight lockup.

I know this toy is not representative of a real Airsoft gun, but its still fun, and I figure it will last for a few more shots before it falls apart. At that point I will take it all apart again and when It goes back together it will get glued, all the seams will be filled and it will get custom paint. I will make it a display model.
