    Good Points: attractive tank


    Bad Points: top bar made cleaning and catching fish difficult.
    silicone seal not strong enough


    General comments: My 5 year old jewel rio 125 litre fish tank sprung a leak at 02.30 in the morning. Disaster, unable to stop the leak or repair it ( failed) had no choice but to take all fish back to the fish store ( £100 of stock) and carpet runined. I expected more durability from a tank.

    The Jewel Rio 125 is excellent value, very easy to maintain. The best fish tank i have ever bought recommend it to all first time buyers, had mine 3 years no problems whatsoever.

    I've had my Jewel Rio 125 for four years and have been extremely please with it. No problems to report, still using the original light tubes too! It looks great, is easy to set up and maintain and has the advantage of having the heater and filter media/pump enclosed together in the filter housing. This makes hiding the tanks working parts with decoration far easier than some other tanks which often have a heater and filter separately.

    Jewel fish tanks make a great first fish tank. I bought a Jewel Rio 125 Fish Tank, then I got a 180, and I have now added a 400. I will only have Jewel fish tanks!

    The Jewel Rio 125 in my opinion is a perfect tank for someone starting out. As a complete package it skips the need to get the correct rated heater, the right filter, the right pump etc. I have owned my tank now for about 18 months and have had no problems what so ever, still using the original lamps too. The two year warranty which comes as standard has not been needed.

    I have 2 fish tanks, this one and an older standard 4 ft tank. The Jewel really look good in minimalist but stylish way ...
