Bad Points: Battery has overheated on occasions.
Battery compartment door lugs are fragile.
The rocker switch can sometimes be clumsy to use.

General comments: I like the Technika ML-2 256 a lot, but am now looking to update.
    Good sounds.
    Easy operation.
    Long battery life.
    Useful as a data carrier.

The Technika ML-2 256 is a good MP3 for £10, but buying all the batteries isn't worth it. I would go for an Ipod, because its rechargeable.

Basically its poor. All I wanted was a cheap MP3 for my holiday. So far I've spent several hours trying to upload music to it, and only have 16 tracks on it. I'm not sure whether I have a faulty one or whether its just ridiculously complicated to use. My PC is telling me that there is 200 odd tracks on it, but I can only listen to 16 of them.

Its going back to Tesco tomorrow for a refund!

My Technika ML-2 256MB stopped working after 3 weeks and its deleted 3/4 of my music and some of the music is not understandable, it spoilt the music. Every time i plug the usb my computer crashes. It won't let me delete or add any music. Its just so naff and now i want my money back. I absolutely hate sorry but i am being truthful.

Very neat toy, worth buying especially at discount prices currently being offered. More memory would be good though as I only get 55-60 tracks on mine.

My Technika ML-2 256Mb MP3 player is not working properly. Does anyone know how to repair it? Are there any guidelines available anywhere. When it is working it is very good, and it has very good hi-fi sound.

For a basic and cheap model, the Technika ML-2 256MB MP3 player has got a few functions. It has also got an equaliser and a USB extension cable.

Unfortunately, the battery doesn't last for more than 2 or 3 hours. You can not use folders either. After using it for 6 months, I'm planning to bin it, as it restarts suddenly while listening to it every time, which is terribly annoying.

Buy it if you can't afford a good MP3 player.

I purchased a Technika ML-2 256Mb MP3 player on Christmas Eve at Tesco, and I could hardly believe the price. It was actually cheaper than the 128Mb players on sale in the store. Unfortunately now, where available, the price has returned to £19.99.

It comes with software, but also worked as a simple plug & play with XP Pro.

My most significant criticism is that it is not possible to find a specific track without scrolling through the entire collection of music.

The Technika ML-2 256MB is a great little MP3 player, very easy to use and it hasn'te crashed once.

If all you are after is a cheap mp3 player then this is perfect.

The Technika ML-2 256MB MP3 player is an excellent player for the price of £10, which is what you'd currently pay online for an ordinary USB flash card, so it's a bit of a no brainer at this price. Transfer is easy - just drag and drop. Sound quality is good. An excellent starter MP3 player which should hold up to 3 CD's worth of music at top qualify, or more when lower quality MP3's are transferred.

The Technika ML-2 256MB MP3 player is good value for £9.99, but definitely not worth buying at the full price.

The average sound quality is not really noticeable until you listen and compare it to something of high quality.
It feels cheap and nasty, which is probably it's biggest fault.

Good for the kids, or if you want something to use where you wouldn't want to take a expensive player.
Good if you want a USB memory stick and don't object to having an MP3 player thrown in. ...
