The Pacific 1001 is a great little player, Have been looking around for a multi region for ages without the hack. Tried this one and low & behold USA DVD's play as well as UK and just about anywhere.
Good reproduction of all audio CD's.

Seen this advertised in paper for 25 quid and as I was looking for a 2nd player to give my Xbox and naff Hyundai player a break, thought I would give it a try. Had read previous reviews on this site about it and gave it a go. It does not disappoint so far. Multiregional out of box and plays dvd-r. A steal!

The new Pacific 1001 looks a little more stylish than the previous model, but who can fault the performance? CD,VCD,SVCD,DVD-r,DVD+r,MP3CD it plays them all! And, region free straight out of the box. Makes my other DVD player look a little bit sick at over £120.

The Pacific 1001 is not stylish, lacks display screen but plug this machine in and it will play multi region discs and even vcds. In fact it plays every disc I have put in what a bargain at under £30.00 (asdas).

The Pacific 1001 is a superb DVD player, purchased from Asda, what an absolute bargain, under thirty quid! It does everything a good dvd player should and more. Picture qaulity and sound reproduction is just as good as a more expensive model. This player is so straight forward, you just plug it in and play your favourite film, or listen to your CD's or even view your jpeg photo's from your cdr's.
It doesn't have any display on the front like other models, but this is no problem as you can get al ...

The Pacific 1001 is a superb DVD player for such a small price. Nice and light, and plays anything!! You do not need a hack, as it is multi-region. Have got 2 of these, one for the caravan and one for my young daughter. Playback quality is good.

The Pacific 1001 DVD Player is Sub £30 quid... what a bargain! My partner bought one and I was very impressed. I have three DVD players in the house that all work fine, but have bought one of these just to tuck away in case one fails.

I love the Pacific 1001 dvd player. For a 'supermarket' buy you cannot go wrong. Don't be fooled by the lack of front display as you don't need one, everything is on the screen. It has two Scart sockets on the rear that makes it easy to hook up.

It is small and easy to use, the remote is nothing special but you can always use another make if you want to. I like the fact that the DVD player will play everything I have, including home made DVD's and JPEG disks. My advice would be to buy one, d ...

I bought this Pacific 1001 DVD Player for £34.00 from Asda.I have the 1002 that I wanted to use as a CD/MP3 player to replace my knackered CD player(this way was cheaper than buying a new Cd player). The 1002 is a terrific unit, so I was sceptical about whether the 1001 could match it. I needn't have worried as I feel that the 1001 has a slightly better picture and I don't need to keep going into the menu to change from PAL to NTSC as on the 1002, it's automatic on the 1001. The lack of LC ...

Just bought the Pacific 1001 fom ASDA. Love sticking in my disk of mp3s (where I can flick through 99 tracks (go back to standard CD - u must be joking!) Better looking than 1002. At the price difficult to fault.

This Pacific 1001 is a great dvd player for any price let alone £34.

Plays the works MP3's Mpegs (no need to convert to DVD)easy to use

Has zoom function and digital coaxial outputs. And its DTS.

Superb (just like the skoda of the same name) does what the more expensive models do, better and cheaper.

    Every home should have one.

I have upgraded from a sony M35 to this and it knocks the socks of that (and the sony was £400)

Buy one try it and if you dont like it say i ...

The Pacific 1001 is a good dvd player that plays all and more than it says on the box. As well as playing CDR, VCD, MP3s, this little beauty will also play SVCD not bad for the knock down price.

For the price, the Pacific 1001 machine cannot be beaten, if you want to watch backups of your fave movies, this machine plays them all. Try writing the raw vob DVD files onto a CD (just copy onto hard drive then onto cd if it fits) and it will play them (DVD quality on a CD!!!!)no need for a DVD writer.

The Pacific 1001 DVD player is £34 at Asda and has to be one of the bargains of the year. I asked whether it was multiregion before purchasing and the sales assistant didn't know but when I checked a couple of review sites they soon revealed it is Multi region straight out of the box ;0)

It plays DVD and DVD-r, MP£, CD and VCD. The quality is fine considering the price.
